Jewelz: Seems you had better luck with James than I did. Of course I talked with him at 5 p.m. Eastern time, but he told me my problems were all internet related! Too many users online, and too many band width hogs. Ya right *rolling my eyes* When I talked to him I was running way below normal, and after that it only got worse! I called back at 9 p.m. and waited 45 minutes on hold for advanced techs, when it finally rang through, they disconnected me! Called back, and again could not get through, gave up and shut puter down. Here's my speeds for yesterday, and I am on the PRO plan!!! s1: Don't hold me to this, but I believe the way it works for internet satelite, is they try to get you a number closest to 100 as they can. When my satelite was first installed mine was at 91, and right now I am at 84, which is fairly good for satelite. Some people only have in the 50's and 60's and can still get around the internet well. Hope that answers your question.

Direcvictim, my uploads are BAD, look at my first post, only 20Kbps or 3KBS not good at all!!! bigdaddy51: If you are getting fairly stable rates, stay with the 4000, the 6000 too many people are having the same problem I am. I'm not sure if they will let me go back to the 4000, but if this is better by next week, they will either let me or they can shove this you know where. lol My only other choice here is dial-up at 49.0 kbs, but right now that's not looking bad. At least on dial-up they don't fap you if you download. lol

Yes I hear that story all the time, has to be your computer. But after they did ALL this checking on my computer, guess what??? It's them!!! Whatever you do, DO NOT upgrade to the DW6000, as it is far worse than the speeds I got on my DW4000. Uploads for DirecWay suck big time! What are you getting for download speeds? For uploading dial-up beats DirecWay ALL to heck, as they have it limited so badly. I come to this site to get info and see if I can help anyone, and I actually can say at 55 years old, I do not like the language of F you and all that! That is not language that should be in a public forum that kids might enter into, and I myself don't like hearing. Sorry s1, but you need to grow up and learn to hold back that kind of foul language when in a public forum. And Ca3le, I saw the messages also, I wasn't going to get involved but s1 is misleading you that he is so innocent here. I try not to attack anyone, and try to show respect, and expect the same in return. I don't think that is asking too much from anyone, if it is, then this site isn't anywhere's I want to be. HR: I gave you an e-mail address to someone who IS NOT a newbie and maybe able to help you. Other than that all I can tell you is call DirecWay Tech Support. The Reverand is VERY experienced with the DirecWay systems, I am sure he would help if you e-mailed him. I have had DirecWay for 2 years, but have only had the DW6000 for a couple months now, and I do not have all the answers you need, I wish I did, Again his e-mail address is:

H.R. : Lets try a few things here. Are you using Internet Explorer? Go to tools at the top, Internet Options, Connections, Lan Settings, and check the box that says Use a proxy server, and the box that says bypass proxy server for local addresses (make sure the box at the top that says automactically detect setting is unchecked). Ok now go to Advanced, and in the first box type this in where it says HTTP: 192.168.0.1 and in Port type in 87. Now at the bottom there is a box that says

This is all really very sad! But the saddest part is, in the meantime, NO ONE is helping ALL the people with problems with their questions on DirecWay. Hope this all can be fixed, as people are asking for help and no one here is helping.

Try going to www.symantec.com and do a scan there. You'll find it on the left hand side towards the bottom. It says Symantec Security Check. You should show totally stealth there. I find that the one at GRC is scanning my DW6000 and NOT my computer, so it shows all the ports open. Don't think they are setup for the new satelite stuff over at GRC. Try the one at symantec, as much as I detest most of their products I do trust this scan. Hope it helps!!!!

Hi lance!! I dunno, I guess they felt sorry for me, as when I upgraded they told me just to keep the 4000 modems. Was a good thing I did too!!! The 6000 they sent me didn't work!! What a mess that was, had to cancel that account, make a new one to use the 4000 again. ect etc. Took a couple weeks for them to send the NEW 6000, which now does work, but as you can tell I get a lot of loss of speed. So far this morning it is running at 1100 Kbps, so waiting for it to start dropping. Rev sent me something to try, so when it starts dropping I am gonna give that a shot, and if it still is droppig, then I am gonna ring DirecWays neck.

lance are you teasing us?? lol Boy I am so darn tempted to go BACK to my 4000, which I can with no problem, I didn't BUY the 15 month contract when I upgraded to the 6000. Figured the 100.00 bucks I would save may not be in MY best interrest. lol I still have the modems, and they are in fine working conditions, only went to the 6000, so my computer could be shut down when my son wants to be online, networks grrrrrr. Maybe wasn't such a great idea. Glad to hear you are having great speeds though lance, someone should. lol

WOW xmechanic!! Well, at least now I don't feel sooooooooooo alone. lol It has been bad here most of the day, even with all the tweaks the Rev has given me. Don't know why it drops so bad as I was over 1100 Kbps this morning, and just kept dropping after 1:00 p.m. I sure know it does suck when you are trying to do things online though. Hopefully they get it ALL FIXED soon for all of us.

Rev: That was after I did what you said in that post. LOL I even set it back and didn't make any difference what so ever. I am just destined to be slow I guess. Going to call tech support AGAIN by this evening, there is no reasoning behind why I drop from over 1000Kbps down to 269Kbps in only 3 hours. I know it's driving me nuts to say the least!
