Another Newbie needs Help with Direcway "Non-Speed"
fikester replied to donpedro's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
Those are superior upload speeds...do you have a commercial account? What is your signal strength?.......you can find that by going to the Dway system control, then click on the [glow=green,2,300]green light[/glow]. -

Another Newbie needs Help with Direcway "Non-Speed"
fikester replied to donpedro's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
After running the LCCU file configure IE in he following manner: Launch Internet Explorer. From the Menu click Tools and select Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click LAN Settings to open the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog. Verify that the Automatically detect settings and Use automatic configuration script boxes are NOT checked. If they are checked, uncheck them now. Mark the check box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN. Click Advanced. Beside the HTTP protocol, enter 192.168.0.1 in the proxy address to use and enter 87 in the Port. Under exceptions enter direcwaysupport.com;192.168.0.1. All other fields should be empty. Make sure that Use same proxy server for all protocols is unchecked and that all other entries are blank. Click OK. Mark the check box next to Bypass proxy server for local addresses. Click OK to close the Proxy Settings dialog. Click OK to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog. Click OK to close the Internet Options. Note: not to sure about setting up for use with the router. Also under general IE settings: change the temp internet setting to use only 70MB Under advanced IE settings click the box to use http1.1 (just the first one) -

Another Newbie needs Help with Direcway "Non-Speed"

Is that your best speeds? Very basic help here..are you using a router? checked your signal strength? have you used the LCCU tweaks? enabled the proxy setting changes? changed your temp internet storage to 70mb? Also try clearing history, cookies, and temp internet files. If you have done these things already you will have to wait for one if the more knowlegable people to respond. You should get about 1.2Mbps down your upload speed is average unless you have a commercial account. -
[glow=red,2,300]DW4000[/glow] is all different league....thats why some tweaks are not for the DW6000. There are people using DW4000 tweaked up with speeds well over 2000kbps on average. Look in the cooperhead website there is info in there about the two different systems. Do a little research on or talk to those who have a 4000 tweaked up they are faster by far than a 6000 modem.

That is a good upload for a [glow=blue,2,300]DW6000[/glow]....about aveage. Unless you have a commercial account. So there is nothing wrong with your settings or system. Direcway is in the drivers seat (accelerator included) and your just riding the bus.

Could you post an upload and download speed here? I'm in western MD also pointed at the Horizons1 bird. Seems an average download for a [glow=red,2,300]DW6000[/glow] is around 1Mbps and uploads average about 45.....commercial 6000 speeds will be higher. My downloads are very close to the 1Mbps 24/7.... uploads and web browsing speeds differ as the wind, which is . Hopefully they will increase in the near future?

If your using a [glow=blue,2,300]DW6000[/glow] and its not on a commercial account (business just increases the FAP)....speed is about average if not better than average, if your pushing 100kbps up your doing way better than me. My downloads peak at 1350 aveage 1000kbps, upload is ALWAYS under 50 most of the time under 20kbps during peak hours. The Dway post thats over 1500Kbps you can almost guarantee there running a [glow=red,2,300]DW4000[/glow]. If you keep watch in here and other places you will read about peoples download speed drop below 200kbps during peak hours.....that has not happened to me yet! I do notice a slow down between pages at times and my upload comes to almost a stand still during daytime hours.I switched from cable as well....only because it was capped at 128Kbps and it was down quite often for $45/month. Dway does express the issues about speed advertised only at 400Kbps, gaming issue because of latency and FAP. If has been less than thirty days I think you can send it back. If your hoping to get 5Mbps (I'm sure they could let us), afraid you got on the wrong bus. Its not bad if you have no other options for higher speed and thats about it.

images won't load, hesitation on DW6000 system, HELP
fikester replied to H.R. Puffinstuff's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
Are you using a router? Have you ran the LCCU program, set your proxy correctly,(make sure auto detect is not checked), and try to enable the htp1.1 setting under advanced IE explorer options. If your settings are correct as diplayed in the help section of "myDirecway" its beyond my knowledge....I can tell tou the basic help you get from Dway is just what they read from the book. Only it takes them about two hours to read it to you! I have been complaing to them about slow uploads during theday...each time you call they start from page one...and they never improve a thing. From what I read you will not get much help until you get above Level I tech support...? There was a guy on here called "Rev" from what I see looks like there was a disprution and he left..any way he was very knowledgable with our DW600 systems. I have never anyproblems with images loading...however during peak hours web browsing for me is slow(nothing as you describe) , even if my download speed is above 1000Kbps. No expert here just lending a hand. -
I used to be on [glow=green,2,300]SC-TV[/glow] my internet bill for a capped connection of 128kpbs down and about 90kbps up on the best days...... for $45 plus $ for $55 for TV. System problems a great deal of the time and they would actually let you know if your bill was not paid the exact day it was due!! This guy pricing on 256kbps was $65/month and 512kbps for $95 month plus TV. The above are all capped speeds. If you called in to complain it was "your computers are in need of repair",

5:00AM Speed Test - New Record for Me! NOTE!!!! OUTDATED INFO HERE!!!
fikester replied to The Reverend's topic in Archives
Amazing....6" of fresh snow, temps 18 with some sticking on dish still have a signal of 74 pointing at Horizons. Speeds are about the same as a clear day? I do notice speeds increase in the 2-6am area especially upload connection. -
Is there any special tweaks to improve this test......the regular download test gives me an average connection about 1000 -1500kbps. I assume the lightning fast Direcway upload speeds are the culprit? :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 225 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 483 KB) Download Speed is:: 27 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 4 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 37.93 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=IVILJQYTM

Has any [glow=red,2,300]Direcway[/glow] users posted scores for this page load test ?
