  1. Considering what us sattellite customers pay for equipment and monthly fees....one would think our speed would exceed cable and DSL connections. I see guys in here complaining about 3Mbs I wonder how they would react to 25Kbps and lower upload with our bills in front of them? The Dway system can do much much better than it does....they have full control of these issues. If the system works at nite its not the settings...there is no legit reason why it should not work the same in the daytime. Its a bandwidth game which has [glow=red,2,300]preference[/glow] to users?
  2. My opinion is there are issues on the providers side.....my uploads speeds have seem to improve drastically over the past week here. Previously my upload speed would fall into the single digits most of the day, later in the night would be over 100Kbps. Now almost every up test I run scores over 45...regardless of time. The speed of course still fluctuates but does not drop out as before My sat has not been moved or adjusted during this time period, nor has any changes been made to my system so the fix for the flow issue must have been on there side. At least now I can send out attachments in a few seconds rather than waiting 30mins! I was near ready to [glow=red,2,300]upgrade[/glow] to dial up? Seems each individual has different results depending on site location and what bird is being used. :::.. 3. Where are you located? I am in western part of Maryland with a [glow=blue,2,300]peaked signal of 70 [/glow] on a clear day....pointed at 127W, Horizons1 so far the lowest I have seen with rain, snow or ice build up is 50....still same speed as 70 I'm told the bigger .98m dish would yield a higher signal depending where in the footprint your located?
  4. Here is the single digit uploads again.....went from 92Kbps at 8.15am to this as the day went by. The amazing part is the download stays around 1MBps all day. All I know is the DW6000 is well capable of higher uploads and able to hold them steady, because one daylast month I ran over 100Kbps up all day long!....of course there test showed be at 256k and up that day :::.. 6. Your just wasting time.... apply the LCCU tweak, do the proxy settings...and thats about it for a DW6000. YOu should get about 1MBS down tops, and anywhere between 0-100up most likely below 10Kbps. DirecWay has complete control over the 6000 your system side has very little to do with it. Then call tech support every day to complain....they will proceed to tell you "nothing wrong", "good speed" Some of the techs will not listen to complaints about spped results from this site if they are lower than DirecWay shows...if DirecWay test site shows higher they use those higher speed results from there site?
  7. Call them right now....flood them with calls its the only way anything will get done. The more people who call the better! If your on a home account uploads connections is there for a 256kbps connection.....they advertice up to 128kbps...then tell you 20is great 4 is acceptable.
  8. just got off the phone will level II.....uploads speeds at 4Kbps at testmynet however Dway site shows 62up ...."very good speed" "nothing wrong with this" basically trying to tell me it does not take me 20mins to send a pic in email ! I just need to come up with a scam like this myself to get rich "this one has to be border line of breaking the law?"
  9. Some of the techs listen or send people here then others on the tech support try to tell me this site is not correct (which I know is BS). The Dway site the numbers are all over the place.....my opinion is most of them are reading from a book as you demand answers. Then after they try a few things then they start to [glow=red,2,300] lie[/glow].
  10. They just [glow=red,2,300]lie[/glow] and tell you "nothing wrong" ...."very good speed" reset your modem touch your finger on wire. A few hours later same problems
  11. There is days I call 5or 6 times a day ....use a case # make one up if you don't have one(7digit #) 6678591 .....dint give up. KEEP CALLING! My downloads stay at 1000kps up is anywhere between 0-115Kbps connection speed. Send them your speed results in the email contact as well. :::.. A correct advertisement would be upload speeds are below most dial up connections! A good dial up connection (28. will load pages and surf much faster than a Direcway 24/7 365days a year....the only benefit of the Sat is for large file download thats it. I'm thinking about reporting this problem to the local news today. Every time I have called support they want you test on the Direcway site...there numbers are all over the board...I have records of over 300Kbps up but still takes 20mins to send a 300KB picture! Tech support says
  15. no actually I'm still using IE ....used it a few weeks ago it worked but now it wont
  16. Seem to be having [glow=red,2,300]trouble[/glow] getting the "GLOW" to work in the forum....bold, underline, smileys all seem to work fine. I have used "glow" many times before with no problem?
  17. Just [glow=blue,2,300]keep calling [/glow] and complaining I spent most of yesterday on the phone with them telling me "very good speed" daytime up about 2-10Kbps overall mine changes from 0-115Kbps up down is always 1Mbps?
  18. That seems to be the average for a [glow=red,2,300]DW6000[/glow].What is the uploads testing with testmynet? Mine range from 2Kbps to 115Kbps. Web browsing is also
  19. If your using a secure site page loading will be very slow.(Never seen this advertised either before purchased) Download speeds are great for downloading large files etc... for general web browsing the upload speed seems to play a big part in how snappy the connection seems. When my upload drops ( most often it takes 10mins or more to send a 350Kb picture), thats when the wait between pages extends, upload goes up the waiting between much quicker. Now if you set your alarm and wake about 3am all works much better...that tells me the problem is on there end not mine. The bandwidth is all hogged up during peak hours and every day more customers are added. The home users must get the leftover from commercial accounts? Previously I was on a capped cable connection of 128Kbps.....so the direcway tremendously improved large file downloads, but for general web browsing or sending digital pic etc.... no. And as many say during busy times I would take a gamble to say a good dial up connection (28. would be faster for uploading and web browsing. Even though you might be able to download a file in a few secs...you still will most often wait for several seconds in between pages before you see anything happen? I guess it depends on what you do online....for me general web browsing is 85% of my use. My opinion is the upload speed needs to improve to keep customers happy.

The direcway dish is said to be much more sensitive to adjustment than the directv dish (so I've heard... lol) just a width if a pencil lead will be very noticeable or drop your connection completely? As the Rev mentions in one of his post mark your starting spot as a reg backup.Ive read many places the signal strength just keeps you running in inclement weather.it does not indicate speed.
  21. Which Direcway modem are you using? ....and what type of account do you have?
  22. The first clue that the above letter is a fake is the [glow=red,2,300]customers name is not there![/glow] Its because the phishing thief don't know it, they use a general heading. A genuine letter from Paypal will always, each and every time address you by your correct account holder first and last name. The above letter is a thief in disguise waiting for you to give up your account info then they sting you good.
  23. I'm thinking the cap on Direcway service for the home user is 169MB per four hour block then once your capped the replenish rate is 50Kbps if you increase your account to a business or cooperate account the bucket gets bigger and the replenish rate is higher. There is programs you can download to monitor your usage level or you can use the one Dway has, however its usually hours behind. I read the same post Brown mentioned if you using a DW4000.The link will show you the policy and different bucket levels. javascript:openNewWindow('http://fairaccess.direcway.com/','fap','height=600,width=634,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes')
  24. That is what Direcway recommends? Here is how to do it: Open Internet Explorer. Select Tools from the menu bar. Select Internet Options.
  25. :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1259 Kbps about 1.3 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 154 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 22 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 6.65 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=XTDRPCLQ5 Not sure what to tell you there exactly, does not seem to be no single one answer...just as the upload speed difference. From what I have read and seen in different forums your upload speed is excellent and if your downloads stay around 1Mbps your better than average there as well for a [glow=red,2,300]DW6000[/glow] on a home account. Some say there downloads fall below 200Kbps even if FAP is not an issue for them....at night the same system and dish pointing's works fine...(go figure on that one.) Keep in mind the higher speed post using Direcway you can almost bet they either have a commercial account (which get first dibs at BW) or are using a DW4000 which is able to accept many more tweaks....so they are much faster! Don't forget about the FAP policy as well....if you get to fast and download above your hourly limits.....DW have the right to pull the E-brake for awhile which would not impress one to say the least.
