I'm curious to see if the 7000 series will point to different birds and use Ka band spectrum.....I was also told months ago,......... " not happening"

can anybody help with this horrible upload?
fikester replied to GunGrave's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
My uploads are any where between 0-124kbps....lately uploads and downloads for me on Horizons1 have been dipping very low during peak hours 6-9pm. weather at your location and NOC will also affect speed. A single digit upload is a common thing with Dway. Power cycle the entire system, and check during early AM -
"Glow" does not seem to be working

Not only does the product have to come to the area......service as well. I previously had a capped 128k connection speed on cable. The system would very seldom work correctly, better part of the time it would not work at all. Prices were ridiculous as well. My options were very limited at my home. Option #1 Speeds of service available are: *64 K w/1-email

The test is running... This test may take 1-2 minutes to complete. For accurate results, please avoid all Internet activity until the test is finished. .. ** Speed: 773(down)/298(up) Kbps ** (At least 23 times faster than a 33 Kbps modem) Finish. 298 up.....this must be a running total !!

I also have heard about a hack for the 4000 that involved software to bypass original commision process, re-pointing to a POS bird, this allowed for unlimited service. Interesting

A Lot of People Say DW4000 better then DW6000 speed wise
fikester replied to GunGrave's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
The only thing Hughes lets on the DW6002 has extra is a built in telephone modem........ for back up dial service. -
Is anyone elses Dway ridiculously slow right now???
fikester replied to Devolt's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
For the last ten 10days or so my system has been slowing down a great deal at certain times later in the day. The first couple of months it was around the 1000kbps mark download connection...24/7. Now I have seen it dip into the 200kbps.....Dw is changing crap or most likely overselling the available bandwidth. Im sure all the cooperate accounts get good service and the rest of us are using whats left over. The joke is on us Dway users at our own expense! -
For those of you who have not signed a DirecWay contract
fikester replied to fikester's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
To provide "Blazing Speeds", "Broadband out of this world" like they show advertisements about or recall the equipment, or offer refunds to those who have major complaints. The system is much more able than they allows us to run......its all about overloading and greed. Mo money less quality. Maybe the fuel companys should hitch on to the "up to" lingo.....maybe get a per gallon price, but if the pumps are busy less gallons. Of course you would still pay full price regardless of how many gallons you were shorted. How long would that last? Not sure why this issue is not taken care of by the government or the state laws......seems to be no regulations or concerns -

What does tech support say about these Blazing speeds..... :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 6 Kbps about 0 Mbps (tested with 97 kB) Upload Speed is:: 1 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (main) Test Time:: Wed Apr 20 18:36:05 EDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 0X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 1024 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 14.29 % of your hosts average (direcpc.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-KQTIPVEM4 they call it internet congestion and say the results are incorrect....these are Broadband speeds out of this world. DirecWay a legend in its own world. -
I would also have to say since a home account is a .74m and the more expensive account gets a .98m...... bigger must be better. Would also seem to think a .98m would get better signal and hold a higher signal in inclement weather better than a smaller dish.

Most likely the individual who made the report is one of those who might say "very good speed" or knows only "NOC in U.S.A."

its easy to make something sound good to lure people in......who knows what it will do? as for Voom I heard they were ending very soon.

fikester replied to Devolt's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
Most likely you are not under FAP or speed would be slower....your would be under what they refer to as "peak hours" in others words oops we over sold the bandwidth....now there is no doubt in my mind the big deal accounts are still blazing broadband out if this world speeds. call tech support just for the laugh tell them about your speeds...."oh very good speeds" they will say. Wow look at these Blazing Broadband speeds.....legends in there own mind? Usually it's pretty decent for me, when it's working... -

very simple......go to www.mydirecway.com log in, then click on "check my usage" -
Things I found out that were included with my DW6000: *latency.....at times I see pings over 3000ms (forget good gaming fun) *slow upload speeds at times 0-2Kbps (this means slower a good dial up connection) *at times variable download speeds *DirecWay guarantees no speed or even a connection at all (read the fine print) *weather at your site and Germantown, MD (NOC)

They were trying to convince me of this: right now my uploads are rock bottom on my consumer account, according to them the cooperate accounts are running the same speed
-
To me broadband is not pings ranging from 900-3000ms. You must also keep in mind a great deal of the techs do not even know the location of NOC....myself would sure think the techs would all know whats going at NOC. At least they should know enough to look at radar for that location to take in consideration of weather at both locations etc..... One tech told me all he knew about NOC; "located in U.S." ! Basically most of the ones I have dealt with seem as if they just read from

Mine are not very consistent at all......sometimes near

My final answer is, a DW4000 modem test result.

How about a "MY Favorites" button for the members favorite forums they visit most often.
