DW7000 is simply a gimmick to sucker people into a contract in hopes they wont or cant afford the switch to Wildblue.....if Wildblue offers some serious competion look for a buy out rather than service upgrades. My problem is the speed falls on its face up and down (not acceptable) during peak times 6-9pm EST obviously there is nothing wrong with with settings, equipment etc....if it works early am and late night. as of the moment this is an acceptable upload speed best I have seen yet! It would just not surprise me at all if the next one is closer to 10. : ::.. DirecWay has got problems on more than one transponder, this is my second DW7000 modem as you can see the new modem did nothing....now waiting on a engineer to call. I will wait no longer than 3 business days, no service, no pay. Very simple plan its called fike101! There is no question Wildblue is faster.......hopefully the speeds will hang in there after they jam transponders to the hilt. good luck!

Rate code 2/3....same rate code when I got speeds of 133kbps up, new modem unit is on the way. Should get it by Friday (there 72hours). Hopefully that will improve it from a 22kbps up? dish is clean today, signal 82, Xpol 80....transmit errors less than .1%

system control center indicates "waiting for first hearbeat" for 72hours, uploads today 24kbps, Tech support is blaming it on the DW7000 modem. I will be getting a new modem in 72hours they say? all phone calls to tech support on hold for at least 50mins until you get to someone regardless of time of day or night! "please call back during less busy hours or you may wait for the next..." when is this?

My signal is good with the .74m, only time it loses signal is heavy downpour of rain, its the DW7000 that is the problem along with NOC. I should have already known, another scheme to lure people to that just does not perform as advertised! Speeds drop drastically every evening(even though the ad says peak speeds are to be 650-750 during peak hours.)....up speeds are to be 100-125 during peak hours, on the pro plan this is posted on Dways web site. Pure joke, obviously this crap was not ready for release to the public! Upgrade= slower downloads as well as slower web browsing, slow upload speeds with occasional higher spikes. I'm sure it will be six months until it works right, then for the DW8090 will strike.

Hopefully wildblue continues to provide bandwidth for the accounts they sell.....only time will tell. Money usually talks loud and bold, and always seems to be plenty of pockets to stuff it in. Looking at WB, but not yet convinced.

If you get one from sales at dway you can expect to drop 600 for the dish and 400 for the install ! They will not sell just the dish, you must upgrade to a new system.

I did the $49.99 with the contract extension (self install), also got the pro account. DSL is years away. Wildblue was my only other option here, but would have to drop more dough for equipment.

The RG-11 has a higher specs, little better than most RG-6 coax. I figured after plunking down 600 for the system then having to re-do it all, why not? The RG-11 is a bit of an overkill for a 100' run. The transmitter run is much more sensitive to noise or signal loss. Its a little harder to work with because its much thicker, also a little expensive. If I run across the recommended coax specs I will post them. The gip installer used the cheapest crap he could buy.
