The pro plan itself should bump your upload connection to around 200. I was told by tech support after first upgrading that the smaller .74 was the problem (as my uploads were 12-100). I don't have a problem with rain fade unless dealing with a severe T-storm or monsoon style rain.....don't think I will bother with a .98 unless its real cheap and or faster.

would definitely call....your uploads should be "up to" 200 depending on which plan your on, others are having problems with the high rate of transmission errors as well. You could do the force range found on the advanced page 192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html it may help it may not (if you do it sometimes takes several mins.)

Yes, a monthly rolling FAP as wildblue has may be better? As far a hidden the FAP limits are well defined in the ads....the speed is not advertised that way. Dway advertises "up to" & "typical" the typical definition is where they fall short for many of us, in my opinion its due to overselling the available bandwidth. I am not as thankfull for my sluggish connection, as the price and promise is the moon. Also recall the DW6000 from a year ago when the uploads were at 0-30 for about 3months...also was told many of lies as well during that time. When the ads for the DW7000 came out, thought oh yeah Dway has got the kinks ironed out and ready to improve....sorry didn't happen. It does not seem to matter about problems as people could read 5000 problem posts and still sign up for one....wishing for luck as if a lottery ticket. This was a downgrade for me overall from the DW6000, if they need 3months to get it right .....WB will mount to the same pole in a few mins.(currently not installing in my area or most likely would have already done a physics test on the Dway equipment)

what .....speeds dropping into the 100's during peak hours and your not bouncing off the clouds? Not acceptable practice to me, this is a known problem with dway that needs fixed and should be brought to the engineering departments attention. At the prices we pay, service needs to be 24/7....speeds may drop some during busy hours, but not over 80% ! My theory is either provide the service you sell or don't sell it. It is better than dial up but that don't mean you shouldn't make a complaint to them about peak hour speeds. This is when they will try to persuade you that nothing is wrong, speeds are good. Would you complain if McDonald's only give you half a bigmac or nuggets, and said its busy we had to cut back? Come again during our less busy hours.

check you signal ? ....also note many of us are having speed issues, and even more issues seem to be associated with Satmex 5
-
My failed transmissions are higher than ever seen, a few weeks ago they were around .5%.....signal good (81) cross pol (87) and no precip, Dway must have something to do with it?

uploads speed will improve......downloads will be about the same (some people are having issues like my self during peak hours), others are not having problems and getting decent speeds around the clock? if your not in need for the higher uploads, no need to jump on it. Dway speeds seem to depend on which sat your pointed at, number of people using, frequecny, rate code, weather, as well as account type to say the least. As you can see my results slow down as the evening begins EST ....best speeds for me 1200/205

as I do not have web space so not using FTP ..... using the SMPT servers, the free yahoo account is even a smaller file limit of 5MB to the yahoo brief case etc.. not sure why the picture uploads well over the 10MB works fine and not the MOV files to sony imagestation. If someone could help here and explain how to work around the SMPT limit of 10MB my video clips do not need to go to sony imagestation just anyplace I can link to for friends and family to view for free.

No they wont allow a file larger than 10MB using outlook express or

I understand there is a FAP on the upload amount as well....whats the idea of limiting the size file you can send? 10MB is nothing working with a video clip, I have uploaded lots of digital pictures, think my program breaks the upload down to each individual picture so it works fine. Uploading the video clips has got me puzzled....main reason I upgraded accounts was to get the 200kbps up, another rear end jabbing from dway.

still having speed drop during peak hours.....also recently discovered another control issue direcway has in the fine print. DWay will not allow a file larger than 10MB to be uploaded. Recently run into a problem with this rule while uploading video to my on-line storage as well as attaching video clips to emails. Whats the point of better speeds if one can not use the net? Seems they don't have the bandwidth to spare.

I used it often....also unique

is a page load test going to be included?

Installed my new DW7000 about 5 minutes ago...

I would disagree with you about the credit deal unless your a newbie in the 30day trail period. Its always worth a try anyway! My request are numerous about speed problems and so far no luck with any credits to my account... even have promised a Wildblue installation. Level III has actually called me back, but 7days after the case was opened. (not in the 3days they spoke of ). I was gone this evening during peak hours do don't know if they got the problem fixed or not. Level III is aware of specific problems although the more case #'s stacked on the desks the faster a fix will come about. -
I would have to say peak hours are 4-10pm EST....even a year ago I had slow downs with DW6000 during the evenings when they had problems as well as the uploads would come to a crawl in the later evening hours, but at the same time that may differ depending on the bird your pointed at and where the heavier useres are located at times zones would all vary. I'm sure never at one time are all the birds working in sync flawlessly....seems to always be an issue somewhere. Here is my test today from there site I test often here as well but easier to indicate time with theirs as well as that is only site they seem to acknowledge. December 23rd, 12:10AM - 1001/194 kbps December 22nd, 04:30PM - 498/142 kbps December 22nd, 03:26PM - 504/189 kbps December 22nd, 03:24PM - 514/117 kbps December 22nd, 12:27PM - 649/192 kbps December 22nd, 11:05AM - 680/145 kbps December 22nd, 10:57AM - 674/142 kbps December 22nd, 10:56AM - 746/191 kbps December 22nd, 09:07AM - 1000/194 kbps

From wildblue site today: We apologize, but due to overwhelming demand, we are not currently performing installations in your area. We hope to resume doing so in the coming months. Please register and we will inform you as soon as installations resume in your area. They also have recently changed the FAP policy so it does not reset to zero at the end of each month, it now keeps a running total of the most recent 30days at all times (so it never resets unless you would quit downloading for an entire month!) . This would not be a big issue for some....still questionable as to if that is an improvement over the DirecWay 4hour block.

I hear there are two spot beams ,still with issues? parts of WV, PA, VA, OH, MD as they have not returned call to me on my info/install request. the uploads are now acceptable around the clock..... now get the dwonload problem fixed DWay we know you read here!!
-
seems to me this would be obvious to rule out faulty equipment or settings on the customers end. now got good uploads so of course the downloads suffers tremendously during busy hours. How many months will it be for a fix?

Horrible Dway speeds in the afternoon!! Any ideas???
fikester replied to dman58's topic in DW6000 Information
DirecWay is having more problems with speeds other than just SatMex 5 .....last night Iwas told by level III there were server issues. Who knows, seems they all have a different story. -
good idea....although mydirecway is currently testing 150down!
-
yes it appeared brand new on the outside, no finger smudges or nothing. they still only seem to acknowledge speed test dome on mydirecway......just told by upper level tech to keep doing speeds there as well so they can document information, times etc....? I know its not as accurate as here, although its somewhat better than the old tests they had.

I assumed my first one was new due to the fact it was already configured for my sat, transponder etc.... when the replacement came I had to change sat, frequency, zip code. Like it already had another customers site info configured. I thought the upgrade was for NEW, doesn't really bother me other than the fact there is issues with speed in the peak hours. Tonight I am at 150 down! 180-200up. I am on the phone with Lev III at the minute......this is not acceptable!
