Not sure what the software did as my uploads improved a day or so before it downloaded. Obviously it was not the fix for all if us!

My downloads are still slowing during peak hours, however the uploads are between 150-200 at anytime. Tech support now says its a server issue they are working on? The new Dec,13 software seems to have made no differnce in my download speed dropping during 6-9pm est. :::.. I see my modem updated as well to Dec 13 software, will see what that does tonight at 6-9pm with my speeds! Transmit errors were less than .01% prior to the update for me?

I had a similar problem, however mine passed the Cros-pol screen.....cant figure out why Dway is sending us refurbished 7000's? The first modem I got (they blamed my low speeds on bad modem) did not have to change transponders and such, it must have been new. The other gripe with this is, if one can go through the "installer set up", one is also fully capable of pointing the dish as well !

yes that is correct software in the system info.....thats would be the one. I am on the pro plan as well....every evening its the same old story around 6-10pm EST in the morning hours its fine 1000 down - between 150/200up :::.. Not to sure about consistent, but the upload connection speeds are a tad better than 26-55kbps as they were a few days ago. Kind of like a kid with a new toy! :::.. My system control still indicates "up to date" with NOV 1, 2005 firmware ......I know they dont force downloads

if you are not under FAP restrictions that is NOT acceptable speeds regardless of your account type.....you can check at www.mydirecway.com log in then go to "check my usage". Bad thing is its always at least 5hours behind so you wouldn't know right away, but make not of the time then check back latter. A basic account gives you 169MB/4hrs time blocks, pro account 350MB/4hrs. If you know your not under FAP, call them and get something done! no fix no pay, very simple

selling on ebay is very easy.....one thing you may keep on mind, if you are new to ebay with little or no credit (feedback), this will shy some potential buyers away from making a bigger money scale purchase. Your best bet is pay a friend a few bucks who has good feedback to get the most money on your Xbox as well as offer a buy it now option with next day air shipping. (for the holidays of course). Paypal account is another plus for immediate money transfer to you. Don't forget good pics of actual item your selling is a big return on a 15 cent investment. If none of your friends have an ebay account, go for it, very simple as well as you can find plenty of other things you may not want or need to slap on there as well. My point is obviously there are more than a "couple" not happy with the 7000, as most any related forum you wish to browse shows many upload issues with the 7000.

My firmware shows up to date from Nov 1 2005 Software Date: Nov 1 2005, 13:45:41 Software Release: 5.0.1.26 so guess it never came out? also here is another recent post from another member about new firmware

Interesting a new firmware release is coming in a few days if only a couple of us are having problems There are MANY having issues with the 7000....another product released crippled out of the box, for many customers.

What that means is more speed control for them most likely.

its hard to imagine a Columbus cloud would not hand you a red flag, I start to lose service below 30 with red flags....usually only happens in heavy rain, but my signal is around 80 normally, heavy clouds drop the signal 3-7 points easy. glad it works for you......if you are only able to surf on blue sky, definitely would be on the phone.

I wouldn't be so sure on the latency part.....dial up here when I had it was 26.4, ping times to various sites were around 250-350ms don't remember exactly. With any sat you will see at least 650, average 800-1200ms, myself have seen over 3000ms. But yes overall sat is better than 26.4 dial up for most people......even though I have to log on at my mothers house and use the 26.4 at times to keep myself convinced!
