Just installed my DW7000....at the moment during peak hours I am getting 500/100up with the pro account.(Dynamic IP address) Hopefully speeds will improve? Last couple of days with the 6000 I would be around 200/15up at this time.
That makes more sense, as the upgrade is in the processor itself of the 7000, IA8 is not a new bird in the sky. Direcway does mention not all customers are eligible for a "self install", so I'm sure some do need a re-point which is most likely how this was started.
I recently ordered an upgrade DW7000, have not received it yet.....nothing was ever mentioned about a re-point no where. From what I understand at this point its just a matter of swapping the modems along with turning the proxy off.
Think I will wait to see what happens after WB gets a few hundred thousand customers, just cant imagine them not being greedy enough to oversell the BW (as most ISP do). Please post back often about the WildBlue
I too had very consistent speed during the [glow=blue,2,300]first 30days[/glow].even during peak times speed remained between 900-1100. That all changed now dips down around 200 very often. I monitor radar often also do not live far from NOC so they cant use that for an excuse every day!
Mine in normally in the upper 70's.......extreme rain will drop it in to the 40's, once it drops into the 30's red flags begin to appear until the signal improves. Speed remains the same until it dips into the 30's....unable to use system at that point.
You can expect the following with the DW6000 using a .74m dish.... latency (I have seen pings over 3000ms) normally 700-1200ms,169Mb/4hourFAP policy- home account. I am not sure what speeds you had with the cable company, in any event the latency you may never grow to like at all. The people at tech support are hard to understand (accent). During peak hours speeds are likely to get slower....off peak hours(2-5am) my record highs are 1100/124Kbps connection speeds

The uploads is my major complaint....actually slower than dial up at times. Average for host (direcpc.com) 800/45Kbps connection speeds.
Bottom line is here is the host stats for the IP we use....this includes the 4000's which run the numbers up! Direcway is just not always....if any connection is always. The home account is also the slowest performance of any direcway accounts offered along with the .74 dish.
direcpc.com Download Average = 808 Kbps :: 99 KB/sec --- 37469 records found (30 days of logs)
direcpc.com Upload Average = 41 Kbps :: 5 KB/s --- 13302 records found (30 days of logs)
Why would the test you are posting change? are you saying its the computer not the direcway service?
