I would bet they have steady eddy uploads of above 256k.....again thats why our uploads are so slim to none 0-124kbps here.

Common sense tells me its wrong. If somebody on death row has rights why would an unborn child not have rights. Seems odd to me the parent has a right to kill or murder an unborn fetus. The government gives no punishment for this at all, however a bearing mother has government enforced rules to raise/discipline it. Strange.

Sparky....Tuesday 3/29 in he later part of the morning had at least five times lights go off (flag code 10)....no sig problems encountered signal returned to normal after rain ended, and the clouds moved out.

Mark the check box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN. Click Advanced. Beside the HTTP protocol, enter 192.168.0.1 in the proxy address to use and enter 87 in the Port. Under exceptions enter DirecWaysupport.com;192.168.0.1;https://*.* All other fields should be empty.

Local is a good thing...let us know! As I said earlier there are some installers that go above and beyond, but many who just dont care.

Sparky....I am on Horizons1 as well (different freq. 1270) was only down for about 5-10max yesterday from 7am-2pm, did not use again until later after 930-11pm.

the test found at mydirecway shows me at around 300Kbps up...now testmy net shows me at best ever 113kbps up, lately my uploads here are around 60 sometimes 90. I go to my email account send a digital pic around 800KB note the time it takes to send it: A connection of 300Kbps = 36.62KB/sec aprox. take the file 22seconds to upload. A connection of 60Kbps =7.32KB/sec apox. take the file 110seconds (this ones is correct) to me its very clear that the test at mydirecway has a few grains of sand in it!

Your download should be closer to the 1MBps mark with the 6000... :::.. Hook up to the new system to see if you like it first then cancel DW. I see you only have one test logged at 382Kbps down? You should have been getting much better than that. Most useres on a 4000 are getting around 1.5MBps down. I still think Direcway would like to see the 4000 users at a minimum to zero in the near future...just my theory.

Jeffery_H....what are your speed test averaging with your satellite connection? Somewhere near 2Mbps?

Hey pinestump make sure you brush up your sand monkey 101 course. Start with these words: proxy, modem, reset, speeds, http, //, ; you will be a pro in a short time or hire an interpretor to laugh at! You might get lucky with the 4000 and not get to call much? Make sure you get a good install, insist on quad shield cable, proper grounding, and a peaked signal. If he seems to be in a hurry, likely short cuts are being taken. Sure wish I knew what should have been done when my installer arrived....ended up with junk coax run 130ft, loose connectors, no grounding, and poor site location due to lazy bones! I'm sure there are great installers out there that go above & beyond....mine drove 3.5hours to get here so he was already mad when he got here.

Cancel then run, run as fast as you can......do not look back! The upload speed you mentioned would cost you near $300 with a sat and would still have high latency issues bad for anything. The slightly slower download is still going to give you faster/snappy web browsing because of faster ping times.

You could do it yourself (depending on where its mounted)...two way communication, 1/2" wrench, an assistant, and 30-45mins tops! the width of a pencil lead will improve or drop a great deal. Much more sensitive than DirecTv sat! Not sure if they charge for a repoint or not? My signal peaks out at 72....it goes out in real heavy downpours for a few mins then starts to climb back into the 60's until the clouds break. It rained here this morning pretty hard...maybe down 5mins. I understand weather in Germantown, MD will also affect our signal?
