Obviously they are already oversold ...the problems we experience will continue to get worse. The speeds we deal with are acceptable to them, basically if a web page loads (good speeds). Weather will play a big part...your location as well as NOC location. X-pol isolation value, signal strength as well. The installer is supposed to ground by code, the certification they hold obviously operates above the FCC and local regulations. Some would argue to the death about it, but many systems are not grounded. Download the manual look at the schematic....the design calls for one, would make them do it right, ground to service entrance or a separate grounding rod. * also keep in mind problem may be with NOC equipment and nothing being done on your end will help. by the way welcome to the forum....post some speed test as well.

You will also need java installed too, if you don't already have it..... for the test on mydirecway that is.

Hughes has not fixed the speed problems but still wanting more users...? Those of you thinking of upgrading, the advertisements fail to mention what speeds you will get during the evening hours. Its a web of lies and tricks you pay for....the price to get out is $700 + ! I have been on the DW7000 for near 2months and have not seen advertised download speeds during evening hours.....daytime only. Order one for your in-laws too since your feeling lucky. Don't forget to sign up for anger management classes too as drop kicking the LNB constitutes dish pointing which voids the warranty. Come on sign up you will love it! I use rainx myself.....for a clean water shedding surface, rain seems to affect the signal more than snow piling up.

I have yet to see a spoof related to ebay or Paypal that addressed me by name.....its always a general heading as Dear Paypal member, never Dear Frankilin Prone etc... as the real emails are real easy to avoid spoof email....go directly to the web site regardless if you buy on-line or not....your info is on a system somewhere if you have an account or use it in a store or apply for an auto loan. If you PC is clean, and protected with virus scan, a good firewall, your safer than standing in line.

I told Dway today that if they send another "certified installer /tech" to my home that uses a pocket knife to carve the plastic or any other parts of my dish they will face charges for destruction of personal property! Two installers now have been to my home.....partially satisfied would be a big improvement. Dway or the FCC makes a big deal over this certification ....each service call takes near 2weeks to get somebody here, and so far would be better off asking a 10 year old to work on it ? I'm sure there are very knowledgable installers...... guessing not be many fail the test given to be come certified is the problem at hand? Another plus by WB....3 strikes your out?

does anybody know how sensitive the tree issue is ? ...myself thought tree branches with no leaves would not block the signal. Then after pointing remove limbs that would interfere with leaves on. Point is I don't want to mow down the forest just for the re-point. Would rather pay someone to trim the limbs up high vs lose the tree. My thinking is at a 43.3 elevation thats almost gaining 1ft off the ground per every 1ft of length away from the dish correct? I could move the dish just form past experience do not want a 300yd coax run etc..... The service these people provide is just unreal....unbelievable actually until one experiences it first hand. I did make a cover for the LNB (mylar) window the butt removed with a knife. Even it were true its fine with it off, still don't want spiders etc...building nest in there! If I had a spare transmitter....would leave the window off just for an experiment of the issue at point. As far as moving the dish...will argue the point with dway, will offer them to cancel me with no penalty! The guy took about 15pics of area and existing point?

oh yes we argued for awhile...he did not to be here just as installer one that done the original install. My options: 1-- move the entire dish to the a building roof another 100ft from my pole mount (3' x3' concrete hole)......pay him $85hr plus material cost to move the entire location.....this is a Dway problem remember and I have no intentions of spending anymore money on the trash. 2-- mow down about 4 or 5 red oaks trees about 60-85ft high (export grade logs) 3-- leave it pointed to Horizons-1 I figured it wouldn't be long with new installs and re-points all going to I-8.... the speed will begin to drop on I-8 as well. Oh the other thing he done that I read not to do was jerk the cord out if the back of the modem versus ask me where the power strip was to unplug it there. Told me he has been doing this for 6years! I was not a bit impressed with his knowledge at all. The other remark he made about Horizons-1 "its old" ....I told him sea launch shows this bird just launched in Sept 2003 ! Then he argued with me about the speed test sites and transmitter replacement. I will be reporting this mess to Dway Monday at 9am

Today the installer came to do my re-point from Horizons-1 over to I-8.....no surprise he says no line of sight. Very tree tops he said would not allow signal to lock even with no leaves? He also had a work order to replace the feed horn and transmitter ....he said it was not bad, fixed the feedhorn window by removing the plastic! Also when done left the big grey plastic cover off as well....said it was not needed! He wanted to cut down export grade timber to do the re-point. I will now see if Direcway will be willing to pay this value! Anyone else have the plastic cut out of the feedhorn window or the big grey plastic cover gone?

WB will be launching another sat late spring /early summer.....to take another bite of Dways rear! Hopefully it will not take as long this go around to start pointing customers.

I had them from Sunday evening and most of the day monday....level II tech said need transmitter! Obviously this many radios dont go bad at once....this must be a NOC problem, has not happened since Monday ( I was down for alomst 24hours)....weather was not the issue Rate code never changed from 2/3

Somebody if filling the pockets, pillows, mason jars, etc...with our money......for whatever reasons people grump and complain, but do nothing about it ! Why I do not know?
