Ca3le . which server are you renting from the Planet?
EvilNightHawk3 replied to EvilNightHawk3's topic in General Discussion
ok , but i thought some people would have wanted to see the specs on this Server and what he uses a month bandwidth wise. I will send pm next time though -
I was thinking about renting a server from them and was wondering what else you run off of your dedicated server and what is your average transfer in Gb each month. What would you recommend for 2 games servers and 2 Teamspeak servers. 2 (32 man servers in Day of Defeat) and 2 (50 man TS servers). You can run anything off your dedicated server right? Thanks for your input in advance. :D
-
Umm no there not dude. DO you even know what the speeds are for a full t1 and also, try hosting a server on that line for 6 months straight and see if you don't get capped. lol

lol , sdsl isn't nearly as good as t1 bro, if you had a t1 and wanted more download or upload, then all you got to do is bond it according to what you want. 1.544/1.544 and you need extra 256 so you bond it 1790/1790 Basic T!>>>> want 512 more 2.056/2.056 ect. it is good line. Also who is your sdsl provider and what package are you on and what do you pay?
-
T1 owns sdsl though. Lets say a huge company is using the network that your hooked into , to transfer a huge file, then the your bandwidth on the sdsl line is going to be sucked up and might not hit 1 meg. Sdsl is best effort to hit 1.5 and is not gaurenteed at all times unlike a t1 which is alwayts 1.544 and available for your use anytime. :D
-
Alrighty , thanks for your input EEbobb , i saw your servers up in unreal champiuonship and didn;t know what they ran off of. Now i do!! :D
-
Thanks for the info ca3le, i think i'm ready to make my decision now. :D ALso , my 384/384 business line from bellsouth just isn't enough to hold my stuff anymore and only put out a 12 man in WOlfenstein anyways.
-
If you have a t1, please show a speedtest and how much you pay for it, Thanks.
-
Ya your right
-
Dude i would have 3 lines of FIos if it was here lol, and i got bellsouth which is ok but the upgrade to 512 is really bad so i would have it as a back up line and t1 as main line. T1 is closest thing to fios's speeds over here and speakeasy is just to far away to.
-
ok, thanks for everyones input and am considering getting it if the pings are guarenteed to be lower. :D
-
If you plan on hosting then stay with DSL cuz cable is murder when people complain and then your upload gets restricted.>>>
-
More like 450 -500 and yes i can.
-
1.I was wondering does the distance from the C.o matter when you have a t1? 2.I have adsl right now and it isn't that great but consistent, would a t1 line be smoother and give me lower pings for hosting? 3.Has anyone here had a t1 that was crap for hosting game servers and was far from C.o and had real bad pings or was it guarenteed to be low?

WOndering why the installation of a t1 is 30+ days?
EvilNightHawk3 replied to EvilNightHawk3's topic in General Discussion
No im talking about if there bonded will you be able to do one file at 3 meg or 1 at 1.5 and then another at 1.5 , basically will the speeds be combined? -

HOw many t1's can you bond together and will it be one line or you can dl multiple files at t1 speed? -

Can you split the t1 up into 12 voice channels and like 768/768? -
lol optimum is really bad if you plan to do any hosting and why would you be ashamed , because verizon dsl is still amazing to and you can do what ever you want with their service.

So a t1 runs over 2 or 4 copper lines and a normal adsl connection runs over 1 or 2 copper lines ? -
Dude how are you hitting 10 meg. prolly you in test zone for 10 down package.
