Well in Opera I don't like the feature where if you click with both mouse buttons you go one page back. Otherwise it is the same as FF when compared in speeds
-
FF has 81 votes right now, same as the # of points Koby scored vs the Raps this Sunday .. Man the Lakers are now really a one man team with Shaq gone. I wonder what would happen to them if Koby left or they sold him

[glow=red,2,300]Firefox owns ur mom so face it IE Sucks[/glow]
This is just pointless to say because a lot of ppl use both browsers and do not want to try anything else. FF might be better but it has its flaws.. I prefer FF but i use IE quite often too

As far as I could tell from the ACE MCP Dashboard (Control Panel for the codecs) it lists over 150 codecs installed and I almost used full install.. How many codecs does K-Lite MCP offer?
-
sorry (forgot the link)
You better uninstall any previously installed packs before installing this one (just to avoid any version codec problems or anything, or it may ask you to uninstall specific installed codecs, I don't know) .. Good luck with this pack.. It has a control panel that gets added in windows control panel for all the codecs as well

yeah. when i go to tools in IE, and connections, LAN settings, i check off the proxy server box.
Delete any IP #s in the proxy fields and then go to Automatically Detect settings (check off that box).. It should've worked with not being checked but that may work
P.S. Post a Hijackthis log in here so we can see if any proxy server settings are hiding in your Internet settings
-
Another useful codec pack is ACE Codec pack (Its bigger - about 50mb) and it has a lot more codecs
-
Good luck with your connection and lets hope that nothing goes wrong anymore

OK, I unplugged modem for 10 min -- I am running a direct line to my modem---its 11:20 EST here so maybe this is why I'm getting good results. The inconsistent results are VERY frustrating---here are my latest:

Good speeds but the first hop is still very high
-
My first two hops from the series from tracert to testmy.net are <1ms (1st) and around 7-8ms (2nd) and that's with a router.. I would say its the modem since response was slow with router and with direct connection
-
...may sound like a stupid question, but how does it do more harm than good? Is it harming my system in any way?
Its not harming your pc in any way but Google can see what sites you are visiting because their servers cache the webpages you visit or they send you the cached pages when you try to open them .. I tried it and uninstalled it.. Like FallowEarth is saying, if you have broadband or even dial-up, its better to go without the accelerator

Any programs similar to Webroot's Spy Sweeper? Ive been using that on my old desktop but yeah it makes it veryyyyy slow, alot faster with it closed.
There's Spyware Blaster which prevents spyware from being installed. If you install Spybot Search and Destroy it also has a list of things that it protects you against. Then Ad-aware and Spybot for manual scans against spyware and should be OK. Another program that is close to Spy Sweeper is Microsoft Anti-Spyware.. It was in Beta and it was free (don't know about now), but if you search on google or on download.com it will pop up probably
-
If you did not uncap your modem I don't think you could have increased your download speeds by 3x . Maybe clean out your cache and try your test again although upload test seems to work fine. What program did you use? Maybe those results are real
-
It came with the latest firmware(3.51) and it was unstable--I tried an older version of the firmware to see if there would be a difference, but there isn't really.
Maybe it is just the router that is slow.. Try a different router if you have another one or just connect your modem directly to your pc (via Ethernet port or USB - Ethernet is better though)
-
AVG does the job for me.. Free updates + its not a memory hog + great virus detection with real time scan =)
-
most if not all current pcs come with at least 300 watt PSs so I don't think thats gonna be a problem in selecting a new video card
-
The internet is more infected than a greenpoint crack whore...
Thank god for this forum
-
For Opera browser, whenever I click with left and right button simultaneously, the browser goes back one page.. Mouse gestures are turned off.. Anyone know how I can make this go away too? (back button is enough for me)

Pretty average results but I don't use my net for a lot of things no more.. Just Carom3d online pool and some other online games and god forbid some school projects from time to time
-
Tried the Kmeleon browser but it did not show all symbols and stuff and i didn't particularly like its interface and skins.. Its also based on the Mozilla engine (1.7.12 being the most current), so I would just stick with FireFox as alternative browser.. I may give Avant Browser or Opera (most probably Opera) another try as replacement for IE
-
maybe my pc clock was wrong or just me needing glasses.. my bad
-
Or go download the Dr. Phil 3.0 and he'll take the work out of most of your whore, girlfriend, wife issues.
Hehe.. By using Talk.Show.Host.Blah.Blah.Blah patch v3.0
-
Maybe I should give it (KMeleon) another shot
-
Well I use PeerGuardian sometimes now and there is no memory leak.. Guess they fixed it before releasing version 2 of the firewall .. It's pretty good now and it protects against everything dangerous on the net
