  1. hey dudes but NORTON ANTIVIRUS is the PREFFERED ANTIVIRUS software of most of all top companies

    i heard it that MICROSOFT RECOMMENDS NORTON is it true?????????

      and so why i m keeping my norton antivirus2005!!!!!!!!!!111

  2. hey

        this is my advice & do it at ur own risk but i find it very usefull & i had taken many viruses out of my system by the methods listed below

          do u find the exact address (in the system)  go there delete it man or if it s in system folders u ll not have the right to delete it so there comes the use of the second OS Boot up with second OS go to the exact location of the trojan horse then delete it.

        but u shouldn t use the second technique to delete all viruses if it doesn t go away with the first one since some driver files may get deleted & so your first OS starts malfunctioning so be VERY VERY VERY CAREFULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

            i m not responsible for any malfunctioning arising out of the above said technique & do it at ur own risk or wait for some knowledgeable folks to approve my technique!!!!!!

            Can this prob be rectified by placing the modem as u said? or, r there any other alternatives??????????

  6. thank u fallow earth for ur reply

                         yes i get fluctuations in my speed but to wild limit i.e., instead of 256kpbs(rated) iat times get only 95kpbs  Moreover the transfer rate doesn t remain constant at all During heavy downloads it affects me very much drooping to just 12KPBS in dialup itself i had abt 4-5KPBS then wat s the point in having the broadband connection dude?

                           Pls help me to finetune my speed so that i ve a somewhat CONSTANT SPEED &TRANSFER RATE during most of the times of the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                           u see i just want to set it right ok dude !

                           as u told i carried out ht eone told by u & i ve no knowledge of identifying  which all processes r hogging my speed so i m posting it for ur perusual  hav a look at it & post ur comments pls

    as told by u is placing the modem one feet on top of the comp(i.e., monitor is at the top of all the devices in my home) the only solution? since i don t have a provision for placing my modem at that place!

                  i ve placed my modem at various places & heights from the ground & tested the speed but the same alarm info awaits me in the result!

                  Actually what does this mean ?

    "Duplex mismatch condition exists: Host set to Full and Switch set to Half duplex"

                  what is the relation between the above statement & ur advice ? Can i know it? pls! Is there any prob with my cables?

                    Usually i  used to wrap the extra cable in a circular shape to have a good look but during these tests i unwrapped it during these tests!

  8. hi

      I use Realplayer v6(upgraded to v10), Power DVD, Winamp5 Beta  for Playing music & video.

      recently i identified a problem with winamp which is listed as follows

          let me start with winamp :the prob is that with full volume i.e., 100% volume the sound that comes out of the speaker (i can experience) is not the same as that with real player i mean the winamp sound is too lesser than that of real player

            the most amusing fact is that by sliding the realplayer volume button i m able to control the sound of winamp which is currently playing the music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wat may the problem?

            thank u

    The theoretical network limit is 0.39 Mbps

    The NDT server has a 101.0 KByte buffer which limits the throughput to 1.72 Mbps

    Your PC/Workstation has a 63.0 KByte buffer which limits the throughput to 1.09 Mbps

    The network based flow control limits the throughput to 1.10 Mbps

  15. hai rainmaka thank u for ur interest

                i had already told that the speed doesn t remain constant at all it reaches the max during afternoons and min during morning

                As u told 335kpbs is a superb speed which i like but it doesn t remain there it droops to even 95kbps

  16. hai thanks for the reply here is the result of the speed test with first website

    TCP options string = 0204058401010402

    MTU = 1452

    MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput. If you are using a router, it could be limiting your MTU regardless of Registry settings.

    MSS = 1412

    MSS is not optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU value.

    Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 65320

    RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits

    Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 65320

    For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.

    Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:

    519616 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 8)

    259808 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 4)

    129904 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 2)

    64952 (MSS x 46)

    bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

    Your TCP Window limits you to: 2612.8 kbps (326.6 KBytes/s) @ 200ms

    Your TCP Window limits you to: 1045.12 kbps (130.64 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

    MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

    Time to live left = 114 hops

    TTL value is ok.

    Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

    Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

    IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000 (0)

    And for the second one i donno  ho w to activate my Java settings

    thank u

  17. the result with the first website is as under

    Your Internet speed: 354 kilobits per second.    Test Again

    Status: Your Internet connection may be damaged or malfunctioning. High-speed Internet connections typically have the most inefficiency and room for improvement.

    this is with first website  &with the second one i culdn t see the START button for testing !!!!

  18. My computer configuration is 512MB ram ,80GB,2.4GHz

    I ve broadband connection with rated speed of  256Kpbs,ADSL line

    The problem is that speed doesn t remain constant MOREOVER THE TRANSFER RATE  too doesn t remain constant inthe  sense it varies very widely between morning afternoon ,night .Max speed is attained during afternoon only in the morning speed drops to 95kpbs too!!!!!

    i had seen all the tips in the forum for incresing the speed  and no virus or spyware is reported i used TCP/IP optimiser , Cablenut & Tuneup utilities 2006 too butthe problem remains Pls suggest a way to increse my speed

    the result of testmy.net download test is posted below for ur reference

    :::.. Download Stats ..:::

    Connection is:: 335 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)

    Download Speed is:: 41 kB/s

    Tested From:: https://testmy.net

    Test Time:: Wed Feb 15 12:50:51 UTC+0530 2006

    Bottom Line:: 6X faster than 56K 1MB download in 24.98 sec

    Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 81.08 % faster than the average for host (39.230)

    Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-3HYPF5K9G

    Pls remember that this test is done during afternnon.
