  1. Adelphia is beta testing the new speeds. 6mb/768kb for premiere, and 4mb/384kb for normal. If it doesnt kill their backbone, they announce it and upgrade everyone. If it does, they cacnle it and nobody notices a difference. (except us )

  3. OK. If i set send to 384000, i get nice speeds, but retransmissions. 128000 gives me: Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
  4. I, uhh, looked up and didnt see where you posted the file
  5. Thanks for the settings. They are keeping the testing a secret. I talked with a couple techs. They dont want people to know about it. If they dont say anything, then when it happens (like to you), the person just thinks its weird and forgets about it. So this way if it brings the backbone to its knees, they can reverse it and nobody notices it. If it works, then they announce it and upgrade everyone

  8. What tweak did you do though? What rwins and such. I am trying to tweak up, curious as to what you are using.

  10. what area are you in? As i said, you are prolly in a beta test area for the new speeds. The new caps are 7.2mbit down and 920kbit upload (to account for the overhead). Can you tell me what rwins and stuff you are using?
  11. 384000. I get crappy results everywhere but my server though, it seems.
  12. I can't get it nailed down good, like everyone else who has the nice speeds on adelphia w/ the upgrade.
  13. I'm still working on tweaking. Is this large enough? Or are you not talking to me
  14. dude... adelphia is beta testing upgrades in areas. The new caps for 4mb/512kb for beta testers i'm guessing are 6/768
  15. are you on SP2? can you post your settings so i can try them out?
  16. I am too. How did you tweak that up?
  17. Hey.. how did you setup your custom speed tests? I threw your 20MB file on bafserv.com (my web server in a datacenter in NYC) and used this url: http://www.testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&st=st&tt=&ta=1&top=VanBuren&out_src=bafserv.com/20MB&out_size=21475328 Got me: :::.. 19. Alright. I think 38400 is the best recieve. 256000 gets approx 3.2mbit, and 512000 gets the same. I got approx 5.5 with 38400. Is there any finer tuning besides adding / subtracting 128000? Anyway, time to go adjust upload.

  21. the voip uses 50kbit. the shaper is quality of service. There is a set of rules, and it shapes the traffic. IE, voip traffic gets sent out before any other data would. 22. alright, thanks. A lot of times with adelphia people get way over their caps anyway. When the cap was 4mb, i got 4.4.4.6mbit download, but never got the upload tweaked right. Is there room for a possibility of going over with these tweaks? Also, now that in the past week our upstream has gone from 256 to 768, is there a reason to even run my traffic shaper for the voip any more? And should I do like it says and subtract 10% before putting it in the shaper, or just punch in 768? Thanks for the help.
  23. alright. How should i tweak the send window on SP2? And same for defaultrecievewindow, 128000 and increase by 128000 each time until its good?
  24. Its only a sb5100. Do I really have to do those tests again? I have the network back online, and everyone is getting annoyed with the phones going on and off line (we haev voip).
