  1. Adelphia is testing new upgrades. 6/768 for premiere. 4/384 for regular.

    Yay

its supposed to be 6000, caps at 7200. As I said, it takes me a second to get there, so its not reflected, but if i test repeatedly, I can get up to 7-8mbit (which is what i get in real life). I was doing 1.03 MB/sec from microsoft.com the other morning

Ran a new line to the modem, put a new lan cable on the modem -> linux firewall ( it was messed up). :::.. 4. tests at testmy start slow and go up. And I downloaded a couple large files at 900-1000 KB/sec for 5-10 mins, its not a bust

  8. hanks... Ill let you know what comes out of my post about firmware on dslreports. A bunch of techs for adelphia read/post in the foruns, so maybe there has the power to get me a new firmware too.
  9. that's not so easy, i am 15 and i have to rely on my parents to do this stuff. they "dont know anything about this stuff" so they are hesitant to do anything
  10. yeah, the only problem is a) i can get motorola's firmware, and i cant update it. For cable modems, the firmware is controlled by your isp. I would have to get adelphia to push the update :/
  11. You know, i've been thinking. I read somewhere that the 2.3.1.3 firmware for the sb5100 was buggy. I think it was that. I have that same firmware.... some bug about uploading. Come to think of it, i got ~200kbit on my 256kbb cap, ~400 on my 512kb cap, and now ~600 on the 920 kb cap.... i posted on dslreports.com. My laptops upload (which is wireless) is only slightly better. prolly not the nic, aren't intel nics good?

  13. Also, my network card is an integrated intel pro/e 100mbit card, on my asus p4p800... should I try putting a different card in? The WAN card in my firweall is integrated, and the lan card is a 3com 3c905b.
  14. I have a fan blowing under my bed where the modem + linux firewall and my server are, as the modem + wireless router felt a little warm. I consistantly get 600 kbit upload (download needs to be retweaked i guess, 3-4 mbit) now that i have cool air blwoing on the stuff.... maybe it was too warm to do good or something.
