  4. The test seem to be a bit slow for me and my download speed is still coming up way below what it should be. My upload speed looks good. I am on Comcast blast. Speed should be around 20 Mbps down with powerboost and 4 Mbps up with powerboost. It's around 8:30 PM when this test was done.

This is with a fresh install of Windows7 Pro on a new SSD drive.

  7. You try this. Click on VIEW [ Top,Left,Corner] Put mouse on Sidebar, when pop-up comes up Uncheck Bookmarks. If that does not work it might be part of the theme you are using and can not be removed. You will have to chose another theme to get rid of it.

  8. Are you doing a system restore or a system recovery? They are two different thing.  A system recovery usually take the computer back to the factory setting [ when you first brought the computer ], by using a DVD disk or a recovery partition on your harddrive. A system restore lets you change your setting to a previous version of your  windows settings. The most system restore will allow you to go back is a month or two with your windows setting..

  9. The PCI cards use the 12 volt rail for the extra power they need to run the new cards , That is why you have to hook up the 6 pin connector , for the extra power. XFX has very good customer support, call them up and give them the spec to your computer and they will tell you if that power supply has the power the system needs.

  10. dlewis23 has a very good point. Your power supply has the max watts covered for CrossfireX , but your 12volt output might not have the amps to run both cards. Here is the requirements that XFX recommends to run CrossfireX with those cards.

    http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/products/graphiccards/hd%205000series/5750.aspx#4

When you run high end graphic cards you have to have a good power supply. You can not skimp on the power supply.

  11. Have you try the Windows XP Mode that is install In Windows7 Ultimate. It say it is for older business and productivity program, but it just might work for sound cards too.

EDIT - Never mind It looks like it will not work for you. Basically it creat a Virtual PC on your computer, so the older program can run. Sorry about that I should of look into it first.

  12. where would these cable splitters you speak of be in the crawl basement?

basically i'm connected with the wire from there right to my modem is all. and with or without a router is same.

The splitters could be anywhere. Go outside and find the place where the cable enters the house. There may be one there, if not follow the cable line from there  up to your modem. I had one go bad on me ,the tv work fine, but I could not get online at all. Also check the cable lines out.

  13. I think i need to do some more reasearch on that corsair water cooler but it sure looks like a good cheap cooling system that would fit my needs. Too bad i have to order an AM3 bracket it looks like but i am not sure.

Only the early version of the H50 need's to order the extra bracket. The latest version already comes with the bracket.

  14. Jdle temperature is not the one you should be worry about. What is your temperature at 100% usage, that the one that matters. Run Prime95 for a couple hours and see what your max cpu temperature is.

http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/ Goto step 3 and pick the verison that works with your OS.

Water vs air. Air is still your best bang for your bucks. Just make sure it fit in your case and your case has good air flow. A good water setup will cost you at least 200.00 to 300.00 for all the parts. I have read some good review on the Corsair h50 if all you want to do is watercool the cpu. It's sell for around $80.00 dollars.
