showoff... lol

as alot of you know already know we here in the US have resources at our disposal....some oil...although not as good quality if memory serves....lots of coal as tommie said.....but hell if we could just build a few more refineries in the mean time....but there are too many NIMBY's out there and enviro groups who will drag this thru the courts for years and years...all those resources on our ground....and we cant touch it because it might disturb the habitat of the spotted fart sniffer or whatever species is around there.....ugggg
id be HAPPY to let a refinery be built in my 3 acres of back yard i have if it meant cheaper gas for everyone....as long as i got a 3% cut lol not asking too much...
-
if i were eligible for 20/1.5 for only $45 id snatch it up.... but then again only thing available here is DSL...cable wont come out this way...but theres always satellite if this DSL gets too slow!!!
:2funny: yea right!
-
that would be a good 3rd choice....or actually the 1st one.....the advertised speeds!!
just a thought,....
-
sounds a bit illegal....lol
if i get a system...down the road ill prolly get a basic one...i dont have the extra $$ to get one of those badass systems yet.....lol
what are your thoughts on a handheld system? i know its not very powerful but maybe good for a noob...??
-
thats cool....starting to google some stuff.....i can already see some setups arent cheap...and i didnt know you needed a licence....but i guess it makes sense to need one...
lots of material to cover....
looks like i have something to do while watching the dodgers and mets this evening...lol
-
i take it skipping on a cloudy night means bouncing signals off the clouds to pick up someone else better?
i dont know much about hams....but im starting to get very interested.....if its anything like using the CB...i just might go get one....

hope i didnt violate any rules linking that....if i did ill remove it....IMO i think everyone needs a radio like this....just for emergencies....
-
never had a ham....but i did the same thing as a kid......being able at night to turn on AM and pick up atlanta...chicago...NYC...cleveland....from vermont was AWSOME...

you can have the burners... l i dont mind the rain and like you said rain pattering on the roof....nice and relaxing...just crack open a beer and listen to the rain and thats a good relaxing evening!! ....but high winds and living in this always make me uneasy..lol
-
its not too bad here ...i love the fact im only 3 hrs from either the coast or mountains!! ......used to live in vermont...maine then mass...
but moved here 10 yrs ago and found my love and never looked back....NC is home for me.....................................until we win the lottery and get that nice house in steven king country....LOL
i hated to drive thru or even around chi-town....and ATL...uggg lol but i loved kentucky...
the only thing i didnt like about TX was having my truck break down in big spring there and it was during a decent heat wave with temps around 105* and waiting for a tow and room for 4 hrs.....not pleasant...
-
im in good company..... im pretty sure there are ALOT of wx freaks here.... [nerdly]
i have 2 wx radios in the house....one here in the bdrm and one in the kitchen for svr wx outbreaks ....living in a dbl wide you need to have em this time o year
