still learning the site and all the other threads out there....sorry if i posted my ........post in the wrong thread....its somewhat relivant though...

so does ne1 know what the fastest DSL speeds were recorded?? i know of VDSL but i also know its very limited....

id get cable...but im about 2 miles outside TWC's jurisdiction..  so its DSL 4 me...

well its not bad...the UL is about where it should be...but the DL is a little off....ive done alot of tweaking with cable nuts and TCP optimizer....and it helped some...the fastest DL speed i had was about a month ago of 3975Kbps............

advertised speeds are 5000/640 Kbps.......now i know i wont achieve 5000...but i was hoping for at least 4500....lol

im really tempted to downgrade to 3000 again because consistantly the tests were 2900+

as mentioned b4 ive done all the tweaking i know of.....used multiple techniques ...and just minor improvement.

any suggestions...or do any of you think thats about as fast as ill be able to get??

i have been calling around....although i havent been asking if theyre dell certified....i had considered geek squad...but like said...i dont feel like getting a second mortgage...lol

ill keep looking i know of one guy who does it...but i just dont feel like driving  100 miles to get it fixed..lol

hi all...also a newbie here...not a noob in certain computing aspects but in this i am...  here goes...

i have a spare computer...dell inspiron 8200 lap.....  been a good comp...had the wiring to the lcd screen mess up and it needs repairing...now b4 you say "go call dell up you idiot" lol......Ive had a falling out with dell...(long story) so i wont deal w/ them and theres no warranty....i haven't had time to get in touch with local vendors to price around the parts and labor...also the dual cooling fans are out...but i have the parts for that...

so here i am....do any of you know or are a repairman and have a general idea of what ill have to pay for the repair?
