ok on my other computer......dell inspiron 8200 i have a wireless card built in...it was working fine ystrdy morn...goto start it up this morning...loads up gr8..try to get here to do my daily speed test and get the error msg ...firefox can find the server...blah blah..

so i troubleshoot and checked my network connections and everything checks out except for the default gateway....its blank....went into CMD ..did an ipconfig...ditto no default gateway....

i plugged in my comp in the living room to the router and get the same message....

so again i bring myself humbly to the mercy of the forum....

i did NO tinkering this time either...lol

thanx everyone...ive learned so much since joining....and irish i was mermber 40K lol

went and did a reinstall....hell it runs faster and the connection speeds are faster.....lol

and no i tried that cholla....nothing....i think i tinkered too much in the registry for my own good...but thats the only way you learn...trial and error....

in my case...lots and lots of errors...

anyway im back up again...resetting certain things .... and leaving others the hell alone...

yes had ie7 and no probs...

then all of a sudden this happens...go figure

considering a fresh re-install

my wallpaper will load up then it says

explorer.exe unable to locate component..

"this application has failed to start because Normaliz.dll was not found.Reinstalling this app may fix the problem"

tried the XP disk and the repair option...no dice...

tried again rolling back...same thing,.,..

so i cant even get far enough in the boot up...good thing i have a backup puter...

ok somewhere i goofed and when i load up my puter...it says windows cant find explorer.exe

i was tweaking the registry...(yes i did a backup b4 i messed with it)  but tried to restore it and no luck...

so i present myself to the mercy of the 4um..lol

I know exactly what is happening here.  CDRW requires that you use a special interface addon...most of the major software like NERO installs this automatically.  If the PC you are taking them to does not have the driver addon you won't be able to access CDRW.  Now the exact process is not well described by me here but I think you get the idea.

I could be a bad batch.. I have never had a bad set of memorex media.. but it is possible...  However, are you able to burn media fine with other media?

hey hey...

i bought a set of memorex cdrw's and tried making a CD...well the cd was blank when i tried to play it....

tried another...same thing...put one of the blank CD's in another drive and says its not readable....

did i get a bad batch of CD's or am i missing something here...?

the second is from a server much closer to me and i would think thats the difference.....using the closest server for the TMN server i got those results..
