RaWDiZ If you want defult modem settings i suggest u reinstall your modem. If you want defult TCP settings i suggest u download Cablenut program http://www.dslnuts.com/software.shtml and open adjuster and click delete cablenut tweaks, then the program will make sure you got windows defult settings, then hit save to registy and reboot. If your not happy with speed on defult settings, dont modify port settings. Modify TCP settings instead by using TCP optimizer. and MICROWAVE lol i really had to think twice too Good luck VanBuren

RaWDiZ have you tryed tcpoptimizer from speedguide? https://www.speedguide.net/files/TCPOptimizer.exe It got settings for 56k aswell Never used it myself on 56k, but give it a try and backup your current settings before you tweak with it. VanBuren

Yea i guess im a lucky shit lol Since Swedish government payed 50% of all installation cost digging fiberoptic to homes, alot off ppl choosed to install. Normal cost here for having fiber to a smallhouse is around 1200

yea i was thinking the same, the only thing i should really use 100 Mbps to is to run a gameserver 24h/day, but the trafficlimit of 300GB will not allow it If i host a 64 player Call of Duty server and use aprox 1,2 MB/s when its full i can run it 300000 / (1,2x3600) = 69,4 hours / month (please correct me if my calculations is wrong) So i think i will stay at 10 Mbps and no freaking trafficlimit VanBuren

Microwave you got that right, the diffrense between mtu and mss is the overhead. MSS is the real amount of data you can send/receive at any given time over your connection medium. MSS is a calculated number from MTU (Max Transfer Unit). Most of the time it is calculated by MTU-40=MSS. Some configurations may not fit this forumla though so you can visit the Speedguide.net TCP/IP analyzer to get your correct MSS size. oh i didnt know that, probl cos i never had a sat connection. but.... I still think your mtu setting of 1460 is wrong, try 1500 instead and set path mtu detection enabled, and timestamping enabled. good luck

wmlarry Im confused by that MTU value that you set in Drtcp, 1460 seems to me like a mss (maximum segment size) value and not a mtu (maximum transfer unit) value. Auth code is great but its way to simple to copy a testspeed result from the forum and post it claiming its my own. I suggest that before you start the test you have enter a user name, ISP, Country, City and that info should be visible in auth check Have a nice day! VanBuren

I just want to tip all ppl that download alot to test this program http://www.speedbit.com/DAP7/Default.asp? I download alot from USA and it really helps alot cos im overseas. I downloaded a 50 MB file from a USA server with 130 ms latency in 40 sec with this program, thats 1.25 MB/s my whole bandwith 10 Mbps. The program has a good feature to search for best mirrors and you can resume. Give it a try

Sounds real strange that your wired pc is slower, the only possible thing that i can think of is that you have some sort of problem in that pc, nothing to do with your connection to internet. If you have lack of RAM or in other way slow pc you can try to use Cacheman its free to try http://www.outertech.com, one other thing you can test is to defrag your hard drive. and last thing possible is that you got some hardware problem with your Network card, have you tryed to tweak that?

Did anyone test this and how did it work? all i know 4 sure is that it works great on my 10Mbps fiberoptic connection ps: dont be afraid this Cablenut settings will screw up your registry, in adjuster just click delete cablenut tweaks if your not happy with it, then click save to registry and reboot.

yea thats the best thing to do, TCP Optimizer tool from speedguide is great but dosent help all ppl, cos it dosent care how big your bandwith is, only if you got dsl, dialup, cable and so on.............. i suggest this method instead cos too big RWIN on low bandwith will get your connection slower with more packetloss..... you need fiberoptic to get a full duplex connection, your Network card runs in half duplex mode if you got dsl or cable, since i got fiber optic to my house i manual set it to 10 Mbps full in my NIC setup, auto negotiation dosent work 100% for me. Try forcing it to 10Mbps full and see if your upload affect less then before, if it dosent work use 10 Mbps half.
