  1. i think we've had 1 bomb 'threat'...but it was in the student parking lot so we didnt evacuate school

though @ my school...we can usually expect fire alarms being pulled a couple of times throughout the year  (happened during finals last year, lol)

  2. I had a similar problem a few months back.  If you havent already tried this, go into your aim prefrences (before signing on) and change the connections box to look like this (if its not already like this):

    untitled0dk.jpg

That did the trick for me, maybe it'll work for you as well.

  3. Alright, so i stumbled upon this new search engine called Blingo.  It's sorta like myspace or xanga where you can add buddies.  But thats where the similarities stop.  Basically, by using the search engine, you have chances to win prizes.  By adding friends, you have an even greater chance of winning.  Say for example your friend wins a prize...well, then you also win the prize.  Vice versa too, if you win a prize, your friend wins one too.

    More Info About Blingo

Blingo is powered by Google, and since TONS of us probably already use Google for searching, we dont really have much to loose if we use Blingo.

So I was thinking...with testmy.net having a ginormous amount of members, say we all signed up as 'friends' of eachother.  We would have an INSANELY huge amount of chances to win prizes.  So...if you're interested, join Blingo(link in sig).

    Mods/Admins/Commanders/the 'higher' order:

Please delete this if it violates testmy.net 'procedures' (or whatever they would be called).

I'm aware it might be considered 'advertising', so delete the post if it is.

I just thought it'd be kinda cool if tons of testmy.net members joined :)

  4. V551.jpg

Motorola V551 (its my first cell...had it for a little over a year now).  Overall, its pretty good, has all of the features ppl like to have the most.  The camera is sorta low quality though, but other than that, its pretty good.

    I give it 8.5/10.

  5. to me its a little too "white" if thats the right word. I kinda liked the contrast colors of before. But i always appriciate a change.. nice job keeping the site fresh ca3le!!!

yeah, the layout is awesome, but i too think its a little too "white".

but i'm liking the theme changer thingy...maybe it'll have a theme w/a little darker background color soon *hint hint* ;)

but anyways, its nice to see a new layout

  6. Ok, I have a old computer and I am thinking about upgrading the ram to 512 MB SDRam and buy a PCI graphics card, FX5500 (not the real one it is made by a different company) you can find it at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143032

    My computer specs are,

    P3 933 MHz

    384 SDRam

    60 GB Hard Drive

    No AGP and PCI-E slots

    250 Watt Power Supply

If i get the graphics card, my friend said it will not be able to work to its max because i have a slow processor, do you think i should just get a new computer or just upgrade this computer. I do not mind the speed of it right now, it runs very nicely but just not in video games.

yeah...get a new one...sorry to say, but most likely even one of those cheapo $500 dells would leave you with a better experience

  7. I'm an aol instant messanger user but am getting tired of the stuff they bundle with it so I'm looking for an alternative. I've tried trillian it its nice but I don't need all of those different logins and its a little cpu hungry, . Any suggestions?

i was sorta in the same boat as u a while back...i had tried everything...trillian, gaim, miranda, etc, and none of them just quite felt as 'smooth' as regular aim...but the problem with regular aim was that it was full of ads, bundled programs, and other junk.

then i tried deadaim, and it was good, but unfortunately, it started becoming not-free software, and then eventually it just stopped being developed.

so now, i use Messenger:Mate...i paid 5 bucks for it, but i guess its worth it, as messenger:mate is actually updated unlike deadaim.

Theres the link to it, its basically just an AIM addon, but it makes aim a lot less annoynig to use (no ads, added features, etc).

I dunno if an addon was exactly what you were looking for, but i figured it might interest u

  8. Not true.. most zipped folders have something in the lines of virus bug trojan...trust me i scan everything.. i have to download at least 5 of the same thing to get on without something harmful

also yes limewire has spyware in its code.. many spyware scanners i use detect limewire as spyware such as Comcast spyware scanner and a couple others

ive tried download fraps.. it was the right size and everything because i checked what the size was..and three out of 4 had a bug

fraps is obviously a smaller program.  the method wont work for ALL files, but for a lot, it will.

as for the spyware part...what swimmer said.

also, just b/c some spyware scanner detects it as spyware doesnt mean that it <i>is</i>

  9. the actual program limewire has no viruses or spyware...

its just idiots that get viruses by downloading files (disguised as porn or something) like to start rumors

just use your head before you click 'download', make sure you have an antivirus, and you should be fine.

if you just think logically, you shouldnt really get any viruses.

ex: you're downloading some image editing program (like photoshop or something), and it says the filesize is 500kb.  Well, obviously 500kb's is WAY too small, so if you get a virus, then its not limewires fault, its your fault for just not thinking straight.
