  1. Thank you much, kind sir. I can't wait to play around with this tomorrow.
  2. Does anyone have invites left? I'd appreciate the opportunity to learn about this and put it to the test on my EVDO. craig at inexistent.us Thanks in advance (if you decide to gift one to me, that is. )
  3. I've figured out what the deal is with those inflated speed tests. Someone linked to the ##DATA tuning of the HA, and I've used it long before I saw it mentioned here. However, I saw some people getting higher speeds with certain HA's and thought I'd give it a try. While connecting to one certain HA (I didn't try EVERY one), it seems that the gateway/HA implemented some sort of compression. I tested while over 10mbit on a device not capable of even 5mbit. If image quality looks poor, it may be compressed to speed things up.
  4. It's not stalling, it might take up to 30 seconds to run the test. It first runs a short speed test to see about how much bandwidth you have, then selects an appropriate download size from the info it gathers there. It should say "Conducting bandwidth tests..." and nothing more.
  5. Would you mind running a test here: http://ping.inexistent.us/stest

  7. Gladly. I'm using a PX-500 with a -84dBm average signal strength. I don't use a router, I use Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing. A quick overview of my network: 2x WRT54G routers in a WDS configuration. Host ICS computer connected wirelessly 2x Wireless Laptops 1x Wired Desktop connected directly to a WRT54G 1x DW6000 directly connected to WRT54G Network 172.16.1.0/24 With my Windows machines, I typically see speeds around 800kbit-1.2mbit download. Upload usually at least 400kbit, sometimes as high as 800kbit. Upload seems to use some sort of compression, but by doing a timed upload I can verify speeds of at least 400kbit. Right now my laptop is running Windows Vista Ultimate and I've removed Fedora Core 6 (which produced the best results with the link I provided--those were the default settings and I used BBR's tweak test to see what they were).
  8. -88dBm should see much better speeds. Around 800kbit. I get about 1.2mbit with -84dBm and the settings here: http://ping.inexistent.us/sprintsettings
