I used Panda for a little while, and it seemed to slow down startup time seriously.. and it slowed down the system a bunch. *AMD Athlon 2800+ 1 gb ram* I uninstalled it, and installed norton 2k6... that made it faster again and made it detect viruses better.

Hi, I had the same problem, I installed slower Cablenut settings because it was trying to get too much from my internet connection. After I uninstalled the old settings and installed the new ones, it worked wayyy better... Try that and tell me if it works. Thanks, Tim

I think its just the overseas that is making your connection "slow" or maybe i'm wrong.. Try using cablenut...with the settings below..restart and try again

what does it look like? its definitly dial-up aol..... EDIT- if broadband, it would have been wayy faster no matter what speed it is...

so you can run more than 1 pc on the net.... at the same time...... its better than nothing... especially if u cant get cable..

My friend bought a pc for me to build, he cant get broadband *to far out* and he has dial-up. Is ther anyway to share a dial-up connection? his dialup is basically always on cause they usetheir cell phones... but i need to know a way to setup a dial-up network without buying an extra line...thanks, Tim

I just got my intel celeron d in the mail today... new mobo....etc *it was a combo from tigerdirect* I turned it on, everything is right, i go into hardware manager, *on cmos* and it shows the processor running at about 170-200F... its a 2.93 ghz 533 fsb... proper cooling also...

hey everyone, no offence to direcpc, but i had it one time... the speeds were OK but the pings...sucked.. search google for a wireless internet provider where you are... *like anntenna* My friend lives 6 miles outta town, and he had direcpc and i told him to find a wireless isp..so he did... its way better for him now...
