Mmm I miss my old 9 meg line XD.

  3. Ok my old computer I had before I moved  was a amd 3000+ 1 gb ram and an ATI X1800 ( I beleive) with 512 mb of video ram and it ran fine just as well as XP did (startup time of the OS faster startup time of the programs the same gaming went just the same etc) and later I added a 2gb flash drive as windows ready boost and performance way out beat XP (got the drive on sell for 20$ at fry's electronics).

Now my dad bought himself a new PC from emachines (crap I know >.<) with a intel pentium D 3.2 ghz 512 mb of ram onboard video and home basic and it was CRAP. Startup time was slow programs always acted weird  programs took forever to start gaming was impossible.

So I'd say as long as you got 1 gb of ram and the video card to handle aero you'll be happy (2gb of ram or windows ready boost doesn't hurt though).

  4. Hi I've been talking on TMN for a while but not lately due to problems but I just recently got kicked out of my moms house (just turned 17 a few weeks ago) and I am almost homeless I can stay with my friend (who's computer I'm currently using) for a week or so but not much more. I have gone to many local agency's about independent/group living etc and havn't had much help and web searches  havn't turned up much help. Does anyone know of some state (CA/AZ) or federal programs that could help me?

  5. No it's not brand name and I took off the cover (it's onboard sound) but couldn't find anything anywhere he bought the computer from a local computer store that closed down a few months ago and unfortunatly lost the driver disk it came with.

  6. I'm doing free computer work for my friend and I reinstalled XP on his system but he lost the driver disk his computer came with it found all his hardware though except his motherboard sound card. Is there any sight I can goto or program I can use that can tell me the name of unknown hardware so I could go to their website and download the drivers for it?

  7. i dont know..i started to use photoshop in my free time and than i just learned i guess.

that's all for now. i got a couple requests i have to fill  :azn:

i think the one with the guy from 300 is the best one i made

I like them all but the one I quoted is the best  :2funny:

  8. My cousin has a dell that's about a year old forgot what model exactly but  it runs great and the only time he had to call costumer support they were really helpful and actually seemed like they knew what they were talking about.

  9. Since this system is added into your path to the Internet it is costly and limited. FAP isn't horrible unless you don't want to share with others paying for the same service. And face it, the plans are rated for your needs, but to get more you need to pay more. You consider it sub-par, as compared to what (sat providers only)? Look at it this way, If Sat Internet wasn't there who would be sub-par then?  :icon_scratch:

You don't think there is overhead to put this bird up? I wouldn't send one up unless there is a large enough customer base to help offset the cost. And unless your a new subscriber I don't see Hughes giving us a free re-point to the new bird since were already paying and in the system, plus, no matter what, Hughes still maintains a trunk line to each NOC. As for FAP, it will still be used, not easy to add bandwidth to a satellite when used up. And I think somewhere down the line everyone with Hughes will be using a 7000 modem, or something newer. So there are 2 choices if one needs more bandwidth, pay for a higher plan or move to where you can get the connection.

Exactly what I would have said well not exactly but same meanining  :haha:

  10. wireless doesnt seem to really affect me that much. speeds are fairly good for going through wireless router.

btw the router and adapter are half way across the house and seperted by 1 floor.

Oh wireless isn't bad but my wireless card is like 2 years old and was considered cheap even back when we bought it but lately I've been getting upwards of 5 megs on it so that's good.
