  1. Okay, score DB has been transfered.  Some of you may have noticed the lag durring the transfer... I added about 1.2 million records to mysql so this is normal ;-)  ~~ the worst is over (for you guys anyway) the rest should be smooth with little or no effect on testmy.net users :-D

    - I'll keep this thread posted.

To be honest, at the moment it seems slower then it was. :(.

Maybe it still needs to be tweaked :).

  2. Forgive me if i did something wrong, but the DNS portion of the whole net setup isnt my cup of tea.

    Mindspring -

    Itchy,Earthlink.net ~ 25 ms

    scratchy.Earthlink.net ~  25 ms

    DNS 1: 207.69.188.185 ~  25 ms

    DNS 2: 207.69.188.186 ~  25 ms

    DNS 3: 207.69.188.187  ~  25 ms

    That seems fine .s1! :).

Also, try out these ones Mindspring, what ever works best:

    Primary DNS: 70.84.217.98

    Secondary DNS: 70.84.217.99

    And I'm in Australia.. :o.

  7. actually my isp is due for an upgrade to ADSL2 in the second quarter this year, so ill b among the lucky few i guess. and also telstra have no plans of upgrading their infrastructure at the moment. and what would they cap it at, adsl can go upto 8Mbps but they slowed it to 1.5Mbps, adsl2 can go upto 12Mbps what will they cap it at 4Mbps?? that would seem typical. hold australia back.

moderators please keep this thread open, i just want to say 'i told you so' to shaneau when it hits the media later this year about telstra being sold

Well now, I've just proved you wrong in one thing.. ;).

    http://www.telstra.com.au/communications/media/mediareleases_article.cfm?ObjectID=33436

"By mid 2005, 200 exchanges covering about 500,000 premises will have ADSL2+ capability at a cost of $60 million. We have budgeted a further $150m in financial year 05/06 for the purchase and installation of ADSL2+ technology and coverage will rapidly increase so that by mid-2006 nearly all ADSL-enabled exchanges will have ADSL2+ capability."

    There's news for you.

Your source of information isn't very reliable.

  11. that is horrible man i can pull crazy speeds off my Comcast and i want to see y this site gives me say 250 k up and others say i got 320

My upload's only 128 Kbps, haha. :(. Don't say yours is horrible. :(.

But my download is 10 Mbps, crazy differance compared to upload speeds isn't it..  :shock.

Which other sites do you use to test  upload speed, it all depends on the route you go via to get to the testmy.net server in Dallas, Texas and congestion/latency/packet loss on the backbone links.
