talk about tweaking a connection.... lol Now... post about 2 or 3 more of those consecutively...

Yep... someone will beat it. I'm tempted to bring my home machine here and tweak it out for this connection to see what it does....

The other system I had been using is a lowly old P3 800 with like 256 megs in it and Windows XP Pro.... But it's not been formatted in quite sometime and is very slow...also a cheap network card. (Genica)

This system is a P4 1.7 with 512Mb in it and an integrated gigabit lan card (Marvell) with windows 2k professional on it... seems to run alot smoother...

My home computer is a P4  3.0 (@ 3.75 Ghz)  with a gig of ram and also an integrated gigabit lan (Intel) and Windows XP... I'm interested to see what it would do here....

But, I know that soon someone will kick my arse with some bad-ass score. I was thinking it was a fluke at first but was able to repeat them.... I'm gonna keep trying to see what I come up with...

No matter how fast we get, someone will be faster....

Yep... I just started getting that duplex mis-match error yesterday... I think it's on their end....

What happens is, when I try any of the tests inevitably it goes to the 12159 kb test, because my connection is too fast for the smaller ones... but instead of actually running the 12 meg test, it gives me that page saying it can only be used when called upon and that I have to be over 9000Kbps to use it (Which I'm quite sure I am).....

So, no more testing for me for a while it appears.....

Shit dont have to be a bad thing, if you dont like it i suggest you PM CA3LE and get a custom Status.....

There are a few options for high-speed connections around and above 10 Mbps, but it's not readily available everywhere yet. Verizon is one of the companies that comes to mind, and I hear Bellsouth is supposed to do something along those lines in the future.....

Yeah Van, the only thing I can think of if no changes have been made is that maybe the network congestion on my end may have been light when I was testing. There were only 251 users on the site at the time but I don't think that's got alot to do with it. It's never seemed to have mattered before... Dunno but I like it....

Upload speeds seem to have improved a bit for me as well... almost 1 more Mbps....

This was the 12meg test with no progress bar.... hell, that's 4 more Mbps..... Hope it stays like this...

I've been using SP-1a and it's been absolutely great... I don't think I'm going to move up to SP2... Seems people either hate it or love it.... no in between....

If I want firewall protection I'll use some third-party software...

I was just doing some fine tuning on my home connection (DSL 3Mbps/384 Kbps) .... I ran a series of d/load tests and look how close the scores are to each other... with the exception of the last few they are amazingly consistant.... I think maybe I am at my limit as all of the tweaks I've used don't seem to make very much difference......

Yeah I have that phone, although I have never tried to use it for the net, I have used another phone a couple of times just to say I did it. IMO using cellies for this purpose doesn't work very well, but in an emergency it is kinda cool......anyway good luck with the phone it has worked fine 4me except the pic quality isn't that great it is acceptable.
