That is soooo cool - d'old Incubus rocks (they're coming back for another gig here BTW). I know a female bassist. Maybe i could hook you up with her (she's also from cavite). She's looking for a band.
Me, I'm retired. You're in Cavite right? I used to live in Pag-Asa, Molino but now I'm in BF Pque (i'm officially a designated Sunday driver for my "old" folks)
and a little bit of everything is all it takes.
On Topic
my speed sucks for a few days now...
i actually have my own band, just looking for other bands to form just for fun.
yup i live in cavite. imus, cavite
and yah! incubus is coming again, but i dont think i will watch that. but i will surely watch TOTO! they are coming here too!
my speed been consistent at 400+ but cant make it to the 500 mark.

@kerby & lies
ahem... a fellow guitarist I am. No John Petrucci though but i have my own licks... main influences are: VH, hendrix, BECK, billy duffy, dimebag, tom morello, paul gilbert, gary moore, tony mcalpine, greg howe, slash, vai, satch... yes, they're ancient but well respected.
check this out: (been playin' since '93 - dredd days...)
(actually earlier coz i've been around since late 80's - OK i'm OLD but if it weren't for us, you guys will still probably listen to boybands)
*look at the bottom of that page... me on guitz

this was in '02 - my very last gig (fronting slapshock - i'm NOT a fan of them but it was the sched that time)
wow! maybe we can form a band..?! hehe. im no guitarist, i just play GH for fun. but what i really play is drums. but im no Mike Portnoy! my influences are incubus[the old incubus], a little bit of jazz, i little bit of prog, and christian songs, because i play at my church also.
-
oh i see. yes please.

hello guys!
i just ran the both the speed tests and here's what i got:
::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..::::::::::
Download Connection is:: 379 Kbps about 0.38 Mbps (tested with 386 kB)
Download Speed is:: 46 kB/s
Upload Connection is:: 358 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)
Upload Speed is:: 44 kB/s

for me, that's pretty much enough but i still have some questions:
just like everyone else here i was wondering if there was still any way that i can have a faster connection..
i already did the tweaks that were mentioned in the previous pages especially on the first one but i noticed something, the first time i logged in that was like two days ago, the sustained uplink / downlink data rate = 256 and the uplink / downlink burst allocation = 1000 i think but i did nothing yet because i thought i should read more first, but i just logged in the canopy earlier and the sustained uplink / downlink data rate was already at 500 and the uplink / downlink burst allocation = 1500, so i did not do anything anymore and just saved it and rebooted it but when it came back it was at 256 and 1000 again, and just for the heck of it it relogged in again and that time it was at 3500! i tried 5 more times and everytime i go to the configuration page (QoS) it changes, so i just saved it on 500 again and posted here... any ideas whats goin on?
also if i have the system idle for some time, sometimes just even 10mins and not doing anything on the internet, it drops the connection and i have to disable and reenable the LAN connections to make it work again, this was happening ever since we susbcribed and i thought that it was just because it was our old pc but now it is connected to a totally new and different system, it was still doing it.. any suggestions?
sorry if i am asking for too much, and thanks in advance for the replies!
in the home page of your canopy, what name is listed there? is it yours? because sometimes, the cause of inconsistent settings in QoS, is that the canopy is not yours. this happened to me long time ago before my connection was upgraded to WR512.
i think that is the answer..?
-
@ kerby
dude, so far, you have the nicest set of APs i've ever seen ('cept for index 2). i think you don't need any tweaks at all. have you tried all colorcodes? mine, the best is: jitter1, RSSI:850+, usercount:60+ average.
peace
so far i've only tried 2 of them. index 3 and index 0. i tried the index 3 because that was the code that was originaly given by the contractors and then i just changed it to index 0.
is that 1Mbps speed consistent? no tweaks? wow.
-
yes you are @ kerby_kerby
strongest RSSI and Power level because you're near the base station
the least jitter and Usercount.
very nice.
thanks! but i still cant get my speed up to 500-600.
-
hey guys,
am i using the right color code? the contractors originaly used 227, but is switched to 226. the jitter of 226 at my ap eval is usually 1, but at the home page of my canopy, it is not consistent.
heres my ap eval:

here are the options:
1) Do a system restore. restore to a point before you have uninstalled windows updates. to do it, go to Start Menu/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
2) Try the attached TCP/IP Resetter. It will roll back your tcpip.sys to its default state. after the process, you should redo the tweaks you made via CableNut.
Good luck!
will this also work if i want to reset my mac adres to obtain my original ip adres?

I dunno those places. Hehe.. I can't this is not my home. I only have Philippine Tourist Visa I will be overstaying if I stay beyond 2nd week of March.

Well, the place is cool. I have no complaints about that. I am gonna miss this place.. sheezz.. it's less than 2 weeks and I will be back home. I am excited yet sad coz I kinda liked it here.

-
Yes kerby_kerby but I am leaving on Feb27 - 1 week earlier than the original plan
wow! i live here in cavite.

I guess yes, the only way to get the Physical Address/Mac Address is to go up the roof, take out the Canopy bottom cover and get the ESN.
Or use this hehehe

Hope I helped you
i cant seem to find my MAC adres in my canopy. i took out the botom kover, but nothing is there? BTW, does the adres that starts with 0A-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX is a MAC adres?

How to access your AP?
1. telnet to your canopy ip address
2. type arp -a
3. go to your web browser
4. go to your canopy web page
5. on the HOME page, check the Mac address
6. type arp -a
7. get the IP Address corresponding to the Mac address you got
8. telnet to that IP address
9. now you're in your AP.
What to do? I don't know.. it't up to you. Maybe reboot the AP? LOL
what is telnet??
