If I have other stuff in my house that might be stealing power from my computer could it slow me down

Go big or go home right Or in my case go big but slow. What I am going to do is start from the beginning and build it piece by piece. Because I don't have that big wad of cash to put down, and if I try to save it well that just won't happen. So probably the first and most important piece would be the MOTHER BOARD What is the most isanely crazy MOTHERBOARD This thing is gonna be nuts even if it takes a year to build and a KD diet

Man this blows everything I own is fast except for this,I seem to be getting slower by the day!

Not sure if this is what you meant by my score being about the same as how much I upload.The program is Kazaa, or do you mean my operating system which is windows 98.NO I don't have another computer to test from.I removed all non essential spyware from Kazaa last night but uploads are still slow.And other peoples are fast.What up with that!Thanks alot for the help Damon.

First let me say great site. With that said I gots a problem I hope somebody can help me with.Here are my test results. Download connection/1247 Kbps. Speed 152 Kb/sec. Upload connection/424 Kbps, speed 152 Kb/sec. This is with a cable high speed connection uncapped.My provider (shaw cbl) does not cap it.System is pentium 3 550.Now when some body with the same system and connection as me uploads from me it is extremely slow, but when i upload from them it is really fast.What can I do?? Tests were done with maximum amounts.P.S.I used the Tcpo optimizer and my scores went down and now I cant find it where did it go??
