Does anyone have these problems with Comcast? When I first got Comcast internet, they gave me a free self install kit and told me I wouldnt have to pay for installation, but I still got charged $50 extra, and for my cable tv they always lie about the bill, its always too high, and when I call up to tell them that they screwed up, they tell me they will fix it.

What I was saying is, a hacker still could attack me through port 80. Isnt that possible? sometimes it shows me that its blocked, sometimes its not.

I have one question, why is it only sometimes that port 80 (web) is blocked and not always? How can I change it so it is always blocked? I have done tests and sometimes its blocked other times its not, I have a firewal. Thanks ppl, any help would be nice.

WOW!!, very nice speed, I have the same Comcast package and the highets I have gotten was like 6.3Mpbs. My upload is same is a little lower than yours.

and it does look like you are one of the few ppl that have that kind of internet, which is good, then your speeds will be higher casue of less trafic.

I dont see it in the host stats, have u ever done any tests?, or does it go under a different name?

Its working just fine for me, Comcast told me that they do have the SB5100's but they recomend the newer one.

have u asked Comcast yourself? how would it be older if the number goes up? its called a SB5120, seriously give them a call. and I live in a city, lol.

Actually, I just called Comcast right now, and the tech told me the newest modem is the SB5120, I'm not trying to argue or anything but if u dont beleive me call them and ask. One more thing, he said it depends on your area, probably they only give the SB5100 in your area.

First of all for u to get Windows XP on that new hard drive, you would have to have a XP disc, if u dont have one and do not want to waste money download it of a p2p sharing program like Morpheus or Limewire. And, about the files on that old hard drive, u can either put transfer them to an external hard drive, or if u dont have an external hard drive the hard way would be burn everything onto CD's. I hope that helped, if anyone has anything else to add, please do.

that is really fast , almost 1Mbps higer than advertised. I have a Comcast 6000/768 package and highes download I have gotten was 6.3Mbps.

are u running any programs in the background like a on-access scanner for viruses or somethng like that, and have tried any tweaks?
