  1. Ok then your covered dont worry about anything, if you have any problems getting your money back call the CC company and dispute that charge and they will give you your money back no questions asked. This is what happens when you buy a cheap motherboard, you do get what you pay for most of the time. It could have been something you did, so just return the mobo and the ram and get a new ones.
  2. just be glad you can get your money back did you pay with a credit card or paypal?
  3. because you dont know if the ram is good.
  4. ship the motherboard back and the ram back, tell newegg that they didnt work and i want my money back i'm going to get a better motherboard and ram. then once you get the money back get this motherboard and ram. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131032 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220088 I have both and i can not complain they are both very good. then once you get them DO NOT INSTALL THEM ON THE CARPET.
  5. how the hell did you manage to get a firewire cable into a usb port :haha: your lucky it didnt cause a short.
  6. if you cant get it working newegg will take it back and send ya a new one.
  7. yea you found out the hard way, you wont do that again, Look at my first post to a possible fix. also make sure the processor is installed in the socket correctly, and the heatsink is installed correctly on it.,
  8. Nice man just for future reference you really shouldn't lay a motherboard on carpet, or even build the computer when laying the case down on carpet. carpet + metal + motherboard = BAD EDIT: to fix your problem start removing 1 part at a time then turn it back on to see if it works. continue till you find the bad part.

reinstall of vista will fix it.
  11. consumer raid is only good for redundancy, it does not offer a noticeable speed difference. You have to get into a business class raid box to see a real difference in speed.
  12. yes a mac can do dual-screens, the imac and laptops have a mini DVI out so you can do dual-screens.
  13. If your not over clocking your computer the no. You could set the optimized defaults if you want.
  14. :2funny: :2funny:
  15. it doesn't make rendering go any faster so its useless for that.
  16. When rendering high res images nvidia is much faster. When i turn on parallel rendering (means uses the processor and graphics card together) in 3d max a nvida box is twice as fast. My 2 7900GTx's render faster then the other guy's 2 x1950's that work here.
  17. Workstation video cards really dont make much of a difference when rendering over a consumer video card often the consumer card is faster because they are updated more frequently. The do however do real good when displaying 1080p or higher video when rendering live because of the large amount of ram.
  18. im a 3D artist and i use 3D studio max and you really don't really need a super beefie computer unless your rendering images at full 24P like i do. even at 1920x1080 it doesnt take that much. Getting the fastest processor you can afford is the best thing for it. The video card doesnt make that much of a difference, it will do the final render maybe 20% faster. You dont need that much hard drive unless your doing massive video. a 250 would be fine. You don't need raid it will not make rendering faster just your wallet lighter. You don't need SLI. If she wants it to be real straight forward and easy to lean get a Mac, and get Apple Motion, maybe Apple shake depending on what she wants to do, and there are a few others that are really good. 3D apps are far better on the mac then windows. I should have started on a mac, its much harder on a PC. EDIT: if she does go with a PC get a xeon processor they are alittle bit faster when rendering.
  19. look at the screen shot, does anyone know why it would do this, I don't have a celeron a i have a core 2 duo.
  20. You can run a 20pin in a 24pin but i wouldn't do it for very long. those extra 4 pins of power are used for something. Just get a 20pin to 24pin converter for 4 bucks and you will be happy when your computer doesn't crash because of not enough power. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812145002
  21. try a program like photoshop, dont use the windows one.
  22. Freelance work is very good, there are a few website were you can bid on jobs that people need done, alot of them are graphics for a website. My neighbor makes about 4k - 5k a month doing that. Otherwise if she knows how to talk to people, and can figure out how to get into auctions, ebay is another very good place.
  23. what program are you using to print the picture with?
  24. did you check and see if you had INK? that normally happens when you are out of one color.
