  1. I wish they had it here. Only Bright House Networks (road runner) has this area. And the bellsouth dsl. It's weird how much of a difference the 20mbps down to 30mbps is money wise.
  2. 802.11b, only 11mbps, and they split it way too much, need atleast 1 T-3 connection here.
  3. On a wireless router, with atleast 500-600 other's connected. A dual T-1. :::.. 4. Same thing with my laptop, really bothers me. Fans are quite loud. It's a Toshiba Satellite with a 3.2Ghz P4HT. So it's probably fine hot. But I always have to put down the speed to 1.8Ghz, otherwise on full 3.2Ghz, it just gets hot and runs even slower. I already have to get a new fan, of the two fans on it. But check if there's a program taking a lot of processor usage and kill it if there is one.
  5. I pay $45 for a 7/512 road runner connection. In Orlando. And I'm right in front of the amplifier for the street also the router for this area is at the end of the street. So I have that going for me. :::.. 6. Yeah, it is already split. So you're saying if I were to take away the splitter, I would get more upload speed, or would be it the same?
  7. Nice, I like this. I can even see all the bandwidth limits etc. This is what it says. Tx Power 50.7 dBmV Rx Power -1.6 dBmV Also, it says I can change the down the downstream frequency, what can I do with that? It is set at 609000000.
  8. Well now the link, 192.168.100.1, isn't working. I know it worked earlier as I used it. It never prompted for a password and there were only two tabs to see info on it.
  9. Yeah, it's 6ft each cable, of radioshack with gold ends (not sure if that really does make a difference, for what it's worth) and a radioshack splitter.
  10. I don't have a motorola mode, it's a Teryaon mode, and only says stuff like "operational." Anyone know anything of these modems?
  11. I wanted to know if I have one wall outlet go into a splitter, that puts one into a TV, and one into the cable modem. Will this cause any lower speeds? Or would it make no difference?

  14. I just got a D-Link DGL-4300 wireless router, with 4 gigabit LAN ports. Upgraded from a Netgear WGT624, which was a disaster, having to restart it a couple times a day when I visit an ebay ad with a lot of pictures, or a P2P program. This D-Link has a great web configuration, and a lot of options. But I didn't agree with it being a "gaming" router, the only thing that goes toward that is the gamefuel software built into it. I also get much faster speeds on the wireless, compared to the netgear, (about 3-4 mbits faster). Plus the blue LEDs make it look nice. And so far no problems at all. It even has a heat sink. But it is a little pricy, I paid $150 from CompUSA.
