i dont use file sharing programs like that so thats less to worry about.

programs i use and never get anything that i know of or ever see anything that might be a virus. i think they best thing that stops me from getting them is kerio firewall. it will ask you about any program that trys to start, modify files and wont let and ip's or viruses in cause you have to allow it. well only if you dont know anything you might believe it but anyone with some knowledge can easily figure out where that is from and that $6 a month is impossible for that atleast retail price.

do you have the business plan or residential? i want to know cause i plan on getting it or spending alot more to get something better for hosting when the time comes. the only thing i can get that would beat that would be 2 options which is fractional T-3 which is way more than fios in price or move to an area where i can get my 100/100 for $1000. basically i am screwed till something comes around but i would get that 100/100 cause i'm nuts like that

what ISP do you have cause it says your slower than yous hosts average and it usually says the isp. i dont really see any company offer 5 mb up except fios or a fractional T-3 and multi-meg T-1 which cost alot

yes its a business line from covad. i use this for hosting my games or whatever and my other 1 to download and play games on. this is the best i can do in my area right now cause cable is so horrible here (OOL). they cap you so bad here its not funny and you get no where close to what other OOL people get in other places. when i had it i was lucky to get 700 up out of 1 mb and the 10 mb down lmao try 4500. i want to use cable nut but dont know what settings to use for it on my line cause the cable nut update didnt have a package that i had. the closest was 384 up and 3500 down or 1 mb up 10 mb down. i have 768 up 6 mb down package and want to know what settings to use for it if anyone can help. i already have settings for t-1 on my other line

the cables should be the same on both ends.

sounds like bad wire to me cause you shouldnt get a short half way through the wire and you can go more than 300 feet with 0 loss with the right setup.

i'm gonna leave it alone till fiber is in my area. fios is not here yet but in some parts of long islang where i am so i will get that soon but for now i guess this best i can get cause cable sucks in my area. i have 2 lines now that i will get rid of when i get fios whick is sdsl 1.5/1.5 by covad and 768/6.0 by speakeasy. does fios limit bandwidth for hosting ?

i want to try it but i dont know what to set everything at.

i was about to use that for my speakeasy dsl but i dunno if i should. my advertised speed is 768/6.0 and i get around 650/5200 do you think i should try to mess with it.
