Here's my problem. I was banned from a message board because the administrator thought I was making multiple accounts. The other person who I was assumed to be, also has Direcway, and lives in the same county as me.

Here's a PM from the admin talking about "there's no way someone's IP could be in the same range":

"Birdfan has a dynamic IP.....a very specific IP range. Everytime he logs on it changes slightly. The chances of four people logging on within that extremely small IP range are astronomical. Even if they live in the same house that wouldn't happen. Not only that he's trying to use proxy's to cover his tracks and now we suddenly have yet another new member on the same narrow IP range Birdfan has used at one time. The dudes playing games and I've been doing this long enough to recognize it."

(I got a program to change my IP so I could send him a PM)

BTW, I haven't messed with my proxies at all, this guy is just going paranoid everytime someone with Direcway signs up.

Is there anyone that can tell me something that I could tell this guy to make him realize that he banned the wrong guy?

I know that there has to be some reason why this other guy's IP was in range with mine.. I don't know if it's being on the same sattelite or just living near him.

Is it just me or is something wrong with DirecWay right now?

Everything is looking good on the System control page except for "Web Acceleration Status" it says that it's not operational.

TCP Acceleration status is also "impaired".

Is anyone else having this problem right now?

I upgraded from the consumer to the professional package and I did see an increase in speed.  I was switched to a different sat, so that may have something to do with it.  Also I've heard the professional package has a higher priority for bandwidth than the consumer, but I don't know this to be fact.  The pro pack says it is optimized for two users, which might make a difference in your case.

You should have no trouble using vpn over the pro package, but don't expect better than dial up speeds.

Well, my dad has to use his VPN on dial up now so it wouldn't be much use for him.

Maybe I'll ask my dad again sometime soon.

Bird Fan.  Does your brother's computer run the same browser and version as yours?  If I run Firefox or netscape, I consistently get speeds in the 600's.  If I use Explorer, I consistently get 950 - 1050.  Don't know why.  Try the tests with Explorer and see if there is a difference for you as well.

Why would it be faster? Is it because it's not running through the router?

My mom has talked about getting the guy who installed our satelite to come out because we need help with our tv sattelite. I'm going to talk to the guy and give him a piece of my mind. I'm also going to have my mom offer him an extra 20-40 dollar tip.

Do you guys know if getting the Direcway Pro package would make my speeds any better? I know it's a waste of my money, but we need it. Also, if my dad could use his VPN on it he would get it right away.
