Oh noes, I think the "PermaBoost" is gone.
I just tried downloading the OOL FTP Test, and I ended up with speed starting to drop around 19 MB of the download, and continued dropping by approx. 10 KB/sec/sec.

My caps from my modem. (Power-Cycled modem and clicked on page before it locked up).

I doubt it's FiOS, because the upload speed is too low to compete with it.
-
Don't know about that....
Before, my speed would shoot up to 2+ MB/sec just until 25 MB of the file is done, and then the speed goes back down to around the 900 KB/s and eventually the 700-800 range.
-
"PermaBOOST" definitely here. Maintained 3.1+ MB/sec throughout the download.
-
Exactly. That's what I'm suspicious about.
-
Well at the same time... I'm confused about my Modem's signal levels..
Name WebSTAR DPC2100 Modem Serial Number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Cable Modem MAC Address xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Hardware Version v1.1 Software Version v2.0.1r1135(dpc2100-v201r1135a.bin) Receive Power Level 0.0 dBmV (fluctuates around 0.0 and 0.1 dBmV) Transmit Power Level 32.8 dBmV Cable Modem Status Operational
Is this ok?
-
That was a jolt (the 4 MB/sec). It was mostly around 2.3 - 3.0.

Here are my settings:

Are you using a download accelerator?
I was using Internet Download Manager for the above download screen shots. Does that count?
Heres a test without using it (OOL 64 MB FTP Test):
Downloaded using Internet Explorer (even though I use Firefox 2.01 as my default browser)
-
Wow that boost lasts a while huh?
Looks to me like it lasts the entire download.

Thank you

that seems like it was cached.... i mean it is Comcast.
Not cached. It was PowerBOOST kicking into full gear.
Not exactly full gear at the moment, but good enough:

I've had better. I'm on the 6 Mbps/384 Kbps tier.

Greetings everyone,
Hopefully someone in this community will be able to help me out with this current issue that I am having with my Comcast cable. Currently I have the 8MPS/768 Kbps plan with Comcast and up until August 6th everything was fine prior to that date my download speed average from 5.5Mbps to 7Mbps and my upload speed was always over 7Kbps.
Since August 6th, my download speed has barely made it to 2.5Mbps while my upload speed has stayed the same. Last week Comcast sent two different techs to my apartment and one line tech to check everything outside as well and I am still having this issue.
How could my download speed be so severely affected while my upload speed has stayed the same?
By the way this problems occurs whether my connection is through my router or through the modem directly into the computer. If you anyone needs for me to run a speed test and post the results I will do that as well.
Al assistance is greatly appreciated.

Any wireless G router will work with FIOS, I got a Netgear and a Linksys both Wireless-G which both work with it.
The PPPoE thing with the verizon username and password should work.
and there is no 10/2 connection, there's 5/2, 15/2, 30/5.
They actually doubled every package, except the last one. It is now 10/2, 20/5, 50,5, something like that.
WOW COMCAST 6/384 TIER-> CRAZY UPLOAD!!!!!
