Bird Fan Posted December 28, 2005 CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 What sattelite are you on? What's your signal? Do you have any spyware or viruses that might be slowing you down?
faithchris Posted December 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 I don't really know what satelite I am on and I don't believe I have any viruses or spyware I check it daily sometimes twice a day. I live in PA that is all I can tell you as far as what satelite you may know. If there is a place to find it I will gladly look for it. My signal strength is 65 Thanks

faithchris Posted December 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 I am sorry I thought you meant location of satellite. I don't know a lot of this stuff. I work with them on my job and not on them as in learning a lot about how it all works. I just know it is not as it was advertised LOL. Of course I may never have cable or DSL where I live so I am hoping that maybe there is something I can do to speed this up. I appreciate your trying to help me. faithchris Posted December 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 nothing has changed only the signal went down one to 64 however that happens all the time back and forth last week I was running on 31 to 50. Thanks
ghostmaster Posted December 28, 2005 CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 I would make sure that the tech comes back out lol... Another thing to make sure of, is that the dish is peaked for both horizontal transmit and recieve, since the transponder you are on requires it... Also...post your info at this site, lots of experts here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/sat
faithchris Posted December 28, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 I will do that and I will also check the other site mentioned above I started to check it out but it is running to late for me now. I am liable to mess up when I am tired. I must say I am really appreciative of all your help and kindness. I will be back and maybe I will know somthing to help someone next time maybe. God Bless and Happy New Year to everyone. Bobbie
Bird Fan Posted December 28, 2005 CID Share Posted December 28, 2005 You're on the same sattelite and transponder that I was on with the 6000... There's got to be something wrong with your setup. Run this test, and post your results, as it gives your system time to "warm up". http://www.testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=2992&st=st&ta=&top= Make sure you have your firewall disabled during the test. Also, what browser are you using? IE gets faster speed results than Firefox.
