asubaseball727 Posted December 31, 2005 CID Share Posted December 31, 2005 Maybe see if its connected right in the back of your tower, or if that doesnt work, you can always buy a new mouse on ebay for about 5$. Shipping might bump that up, but its not that big of a deal.
resopalrabotnick Posted December 31, 2005 CID Share Posted December 31, 2005 sounds like a scrollwheel contact problem where it sends out a bunch of 'down' impulses due to a jittery contact which causes the page to scroll down. you can try opening it and cleaning any contacts that may be the culprit, but you're probably gonna end up either disabling the wheel or buying a new mouse. cholla Posted December 31, 2005 CID Share Posted December 31, 2005 I have the same mouse or almost the same one.In the control panel/mouse there is a tab for wheel .It has adjustments for wheel scrolling speed try adjusting these to see if it corrects the problem. If you don't have this adjustment you probably have the wrong driver for your mouse. I use this dl for mine I have windows ME http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/8/c/48ca781f-a1be-4cdc-8d97-dfc33535d4da/IP4_12EngALLMsi.exe This is the one it gives for XP http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/C/0/7C07FB08-CA20-4405-B090-F4D1980DBB77/IP5_2Eng.exe

phrankl Posted December 31, 2005 CID Share Posted December 31, 2005 Am assuming that you're gonna get an optical mouse, right? I don't mess with the mechanical kind any more. Too much cleaning involved. Bought optical mice awhile back, and never looked back. They cost about the same as the ball n' roller type, anyway... Good Luck!
