richcornucopia Posted January 10, 2006 CID Share Posted January 10, 2006 Thats what I thought, but now that intel is in the picture is Intel going to make specific processors based on apple technology or will it be the same as what pc users have? Swimmer Posted January 10, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 10, 2006 It is possible to get Mac OS to run on an Intel based system.. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Installation_Guides As far was developer can tell you are going to have to have some "Apple Advantage" chip that verifies that it is genuine apple.. Which means that you cant run out to bestbuy and grab a copy. However, hacker have been able to take the software end out of the developers edition to allow regular computer to run the new x86 version. resopalrabotnick Posted January 10, 2006 CID Share Posted January 10, 2006 ok, workarounds. but i was hoping for a legal version for any pc. of course the reason for that not happening, ever, is that apple needs to bind its os to its hardware to cash in on its hardware. oh well. Swimmer Posted January 10, 2006 Author CID Share Posted January 10, 2006 They might release some day.. but they might want to get on to the x86 platform for a while before they release to the general public for release.. My guess is that someone will find a way to install a legal copy onto a generic pc at some point.
