php Posted February 2, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 (I'm assuming you're running KDE) open Konqueror, go to /etc/samba, then try opening it in KWrite or another text editor... p.s. you should be logged in as root for all of this... php Posted February 2, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 find your passwd file (I think it's either in /etc or /bin) and create a text file named smbpasswd in the same directory. in smb.conf, change smb passwd file to the location of the file you made. restart samba (/etc/init.d/samba restart) use smbpasswd to create each user smbpasswd user (it will prompt for a password.)
