asubaseball727 Posted February 2, 2006 CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 I DL'd the trial version of windows blinds, and after i uninstalled it from the control panel, I can still go to the program through the properties/display page. How can I get it off completely? To go along with this, why is it when you delete something, there are still files in C: program files??? Thanks

cholla Posted February 2, 2006 CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 asubaseball727 : A lot of programs come with their own uninstaller;if you remove one of these with control panelthey almost always leave part of the program behind. Some are easy to find in the StartPrograms then the program has an uninstaller in the list for that program.Sometimes the uninstaller is in the program file for the program. The best thing to do is reinstall the program & look for the uninstaller & use that to do the uninstall. If it just doesn't have an uninstall then control panel is the best you can do.& then hunt for left over files. FallowEarth Posted February 2, 2006 CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 Open the registry, and look in the Software section of both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Software titles are listed by manufacturer, deleting the key then rebooting should do the trick.
Guest helloimtim Posted February 3, 2006 CID Share Posted February 3, 2006 My idea would be this. Go to start then search for the program. Also use the maker of the program to look even further. Then right click and delete it. I had to do that a time or 2.
