ArcticWolf Posted February 2, 2006 CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 Which one is better to use... especially on an older pentium 2 300mhz? ... which takes less resources, and better protection all around.... just checked on Zone Alarms page You should have a Pentium 3 450mhz minimum. Love to hear Your inputs.
wingzero2309 Posted February 2, 2006 CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 definately Sygate. To me, ZoneAlarm is like a firewall for dummies type of deal. Yes, its got awesome protection, but it notifies u about every little damned thing. Sygate on the other hand (been using it for a looong time) uses barely any resources and doesnt pop up a screen for every connection blocked and it does just as good of a job if not better than ZoneAlarm Edit: apparently, symantec acquired Sygate and discontinued sygate personal firewall. thats LAME!!!!! damn you symantec!!!!!! ArcticWolf Posted February 2, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 Alright thanks for Your input, I already have Sygate, so I'm not worried about it.

Dark_Matter Posted February 2, 2006 CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 I dunno i tend to like Zone Alarm, but Za does tend to be a bit of a resource hog so an older machine it might hinder it some.
weby Posted February 2, 2006 CID Share Posted February 2, 2006 On benchmarks Outpost firewall usually comes first.
