Raistlin666 Posted February 3, 2006 CID Share Posted February 3, 2006 I just got a new laptop a couple of days ago and decided to put linux on it. i used linspire (which sucks ) and i cant get it off. i can still use windows cause it has its own partion thing but i dont like it there and neither does my computer since it doesn't work worth crap. anyways, i tried to format it off and got this: C:documents and settingsvalued customer>Format c:/fs:dev/sda1 The type of file system is Fat32 The new file system is Fat32 Format is not available for devsda1 drives i'm somewhat on computers any help would be appreciated. php Posted February 3, 2006 CID Share Posted February 3, 2006 You won't be able to format it like that from Windows... go to start - run, type diskmgmt.msc and press ok... In the window that comes up, right click the partition that has linspire on it and click Delete Partition... Another ques if you have a sec. now that its gone i downloaded redhat with a torrent and have the .iso files. how do i, you know install it? ps. sorry if this is a dumb ques.
