KRyPTyK Posted February 9, 2006 CID Share Posted February 9, 2006 I have charter high speed ( not sure which tier of service; pretty sure its the basic ) in Sanford, NC, and here lately it has really been terrible. It is running at speeds slower than dial up. I am watching it right now download a 1.83MB file and it is running at a steady 1kB/s! It has been doing this now for several days and Charter's ever helpful customer service has said "sorry we dont know what it is". I would appreciate any help. I have read the other posts dealing with tweaks like Cablenut, but I do not know which settings files i need to use and all that such stuff. Thanks in advance for any help. :::.. ballista Posted February 23, 2006 CID Share Posted February 23, 2006 My brother has charter in Kingsport, TN and he's getting the same crap going on. My personal opinion on it is just they have overloaded there capacity. Especially since they started the phone service alot of people have switched over and are just eating all the bandwidth. The reason I state this little theory is b/c my brothers problems conincide with charter starting their phone services.
