jevattmynt Posted January 7, 2004 CID Share Posted January 7, 2004 Somewhere in December 2003 my upload speed on Direcway Two-Way has fallen to 1.5 to 2 Kbs. On TestMy.net I have measured speeds of 2Kbs to 3Kbs with a maximum of 5Kbs. After extensive contact with various application tech support entities, including Direcway and destination server support, I have not resolved this problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many applications, included previous versions of Direcway without resolving this problem. Maybe a survey of Direcway Two-Way users upload performance may provide some insight? If necessary, this can be pursued later. Help!! Dial-up is not the answer; even though it is faster. Swimmer Posted January 7, 2004 CID Share Posted January 7, 2004 You on satelite?? Possibly the thing with the mars rover is affecting your speed. Nasa is using a lot of bandwidth on their satelites right now just to get pictures from the little rc car. I would have no idea why you would only get 2kbs. Just wait someone on this forum will have a better answer.
CA3LE Posted January 7, 2004 CID Share Posted January 7, 2004 check out these posts http://www.testmy.net/forumz/viewtopic.php?p=290 http://www.testmy.net/forumz/viewtopic.php?p=417 I just made a tweak to the upload results script, I have an offset number that I used to fine tune the results of the upload script... it was set low for your connection type... a little too low, so your score was lower than normal but you should get right around 50-90 kbps ~~ no way to make this faster http://www.testmy.net/forumz/viewtopic.php?p=291#291 ^ will tell you why ^ - Damon
jevattmynt Posted January 7, 2004 Author CID Share Posted January 7, 2004 I am now getting 5K/sec for mediun testMy.net, but still way below the scale for Satellite (50 - 128). check out these posts http://www.testmy.net/forumz/viewtopic.php?p=290 This could help. I am connecting to a virtual server, and it appears to have three layers to get to the physical loacation. I need to look at this. http://www.testmy.net/forumz/viewtopic.php?p=417 I don't understand why "Upload Speed is: 7 Kb/sec" is about right for this post? jevattmynt Posted January 7, 2004 Author CID Share Posted January 7, 2004 Sorry. Direcway Two-Way (2-Way) is satellite with up and down connunication links; that is, there is a transmitter is part of the antenna (dish). You on satelite??
