Swimmer Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 hahaha.. alright i am going to do an in-depth search into this.. you have a router or a spare computer? NOTE: an answer will not come quickly.. so it might be a few days.. weeks.. Requests like these take a bit of time to process in the old brain. dlewis23 Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 interesting.. but not free... no not free but it will do it over the network, so nothing has to be installed on and client computers.

dlewis23 Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 not really cause its symmetrical speed only no you just make 2 rules, one for incoming traffic and one for outgoing.

Swimmer Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 interesting program.. just need to run all of the WAN traffic through a computer the to the router/switch.. I wish someone would release some add-ons to the wrt series of firmware to do something like this.. Alright after some research.. DD-WRT v24alpha does have this feature! so in the coming months you will be able to do this if your router meets the requirements for dd-wrt.. This will help a lot of people.. Right now with v23 you can QoS based on IP, MAC, and ports.. so you could set the MAC address of the computer to low and the port that the programs that he is running to low.. and that should make it so that your computer get first come first server service..
