Guest wmmc Posted December 28, 2004 CID Share Posted December 28, 2004 Curious, can Cablenut work on dialup or is it for broadband only. Since today I will be on dialup for a while, possibly quite a while, and we are getting a second phone line dedicated for dialup on the 3rd, its quite inexpensive to get that 2nd phone line. Thanks. Marcin541 Posted December 28, 2004 CID Share Posted December 28, 2004 You wont notice much difference. Dialup is capped at 48kbps and I usually got around 40 on my dialup, so you'd maybe get like 44 or something with tweaks.

VanBuren Posted December 28, 2004 CID Share Posted December 28, 2004 cool, i wish i know how to tweak Satelite better with cablenut then it would be complete for all types of internet connections, i can add the settings that dslr recommend and make a file from that but it seems that alot of ppl on DW use diffrent settings. Anyway if somone has some input what i should use to build a Sat file PM me. Sorry if this carried out off topic VanBuren

cholla Posted January 1, 2005 CID Share Posted January 1, 2005 I've used cablenut on dial-up & it slowed me down. There are many tweaks on the web try them carefully .By trial & error you can speed dial-up up some.I recently talked to a SBC data tech he said the best dial-up can get is 50.6K & thats if you are inside the Telco.I am at 26800 ft so the speed test here is about the best I get with tweaks. :::..
