lorne Posted January 9, 2004 CID Share Posted January 9, 2004 Well my connection problems continue I phoned my IP for the hundredth time and finally got a straight answer Apparently the modems that shaw includes with its internet package are very " finnicky ". Something they forgot to mention in their add lol The lady that I talked to said the new modems will be availale in roughly a year. I said the PIMPIN computer was gonna be done in a year so thats OK So anyways what is a kick ass modem, and while I'm at it I might as well change my NIC cause that is probably a piece of shit too. Swimmer Posted January 10, 2004 CID Share Posted January 10, 2004 I have a motorola sb5100 and it is sweet! Fast and reliable. I dont know if you would need a nic card!! The Pimputer has an intergrated 10/100/1000 on the south bridge!!! So that would be faster in terms of speed than any other pic intel based nic card.
