tommie gorman Posted March 20, 2006 CID Share Posted March 20, 2006 Lets see. Advertised speeds, provider, internet type, router, spyware and virus clean, clean out cookies and files when testing, post a speed test with a larger file, say file size 1013 kbps. That should be a start. Welcome to the forum gas233.
gas233 Posted March 20, 2006 Author CID Share Posted March 20, 2006 Thanks for all the tips, sorry I wasn't sure what to do with this! Verizon DSL on a linksys Wireless B router (BEFSW11s4). Spyware was dealt with thanks to some other forums and a recent problem - I currently use S&D, Ewido, Spyware Guard, and Mcafee. New test: :::.. tommie gorman Posted March 20, 2006 CID Share Posted March 20, 2006 Might I suggest trying it without the router if possible. Will tell you if it is the router. Also you might try running Ewido in safe mode with networking. Safemode: reboot, continually pushing F-8 till you get there, arrow key up to safe-mode w/networking,enter, next page enter again, till windows starts with black page, run Ewido, reboot, and done. Post back with results. Other speeds are consistent so far. Good luck.
