dd-wrt firmware

Recommended Posts

....I have just now upgraded to dd-wrt firmware (version 2.3 i believe) - im using a linksys wrt54g router (version 3.1)

is there an option in the dd-wrt firmware that will allow me to increase the strengh of the signal that is broadcasted to my wireless adapter - and what would be a safe increase !? - anything else i could do to make my signal as strong as it can be !?

On the wired part, having a router hasnt really changed anything

5mb plan ! 2mb over cap  :shock: :shock: :shock:

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 6899 Kbps about 6.9 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB)

Download Speed is:: 842 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net  (main)

Test Time:: 2006/03/21 - 1:25pm

Bottom Line:: 123X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 1.22 sec

Tested from a 12160 kB file and took 14.438 seconds to complete

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)

Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 58.31 % faster than the average for host (cox.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-KDL95JP6I

On the wireless part, however, i assume that it might be because of the signal strength, is 2.5mb - although it isnt as important since that other comp really doesnt require anything faster

I have yet to mess with the power levels at all.. i have been able to get between 80-90% if wired speed..  I use tcpoptimizer..  and make sure that the wifi adaptor is changed.. That is what works for me.. If you are having range problems.. then a power adjustment might be the right thing to do.
