Rate my Anti-Virus software!

I use AntiVir XP as my Antivirus software, and was curious as to how good it actually was.

If you think I have a better choice out there, let me know please! No processor-whores or programs that scan every 15 minutes, please.

I have a rating guide for a few months ago.. I will look at when I get back to my room..  I am pretty sure that this one is included..

On the actual test results page, you can go back as far as 2002 and view which anti-virus programs have been leading the field in actual, virus testing. Just look under "Comparative tests of antivirus programs" from the left column.

norton sucks because it installs so much crap on to your system and then you can never get rid of it, its slow at scanning, and it slows down your system quite a bit.

I would say that it is above average...  not the best.. that would be kaspersky.. But in the November 2005 PCmag there was a chart with how long it took manufactures to release definitions that would deal with the big viruses..  AntiVir had 4 of them out with in .5 days, 2 with in 1 day and 1 that took more than a day.. that one was zotob-b

i've been using kaspersky and i have to say i like it better than norton and avg
