Ive done it many times, but for some reasn, my new computer wont read any of my HDs. Ive tried SATA and it worked fine. The IDE wont detect at all.... Any help? Check your Bios settings, like on my old computer... you had a choice to boot from SCSI or IDE,if you had IDE choosen then SCSI wouldn't work. Might not be your problem but worth a look. cholla Posted April 4, 2006 CID Share Posted April 4, 2006 I agree with ArcticWolf on the BIOS.This is your PC settings before it loads Windows or whatever OS you have. So bascally does your BIOS or system configuration show your IDE HD ? This should have all HD's in the list:as well as your CD/ROM,DVD,& Floppy if you have all of these.If it doesn't there should be a setting to add the IDE HD.
